I am the white knight
Tall and strong
virtous and blessed with light
I am the bane of evil
May the criminals fear me
may demons howl my name
may the Devil himself
quake at the shadow of my sword
The people raise praises to my name
the king himself blesses me with his hand
Even god himself
holds me in his favor
I am the White Knight.....and yet...
As the sun falls
and as the crowds disprese
and the king and all his servants
retreat to the rooms for rest
I am left alone
With only the plating of my armor to comfort me
I trudge back to my place of rest
and slowly I pill off my armor
The heavy gaunlets falls to the floor
to reveal shaking dirt stained hands
The breast plate slips off
to show my body covered in scars new, old, and festering
The boots come off with a clang
the calused feet they contain crying out with relief and release
And the helmet, glorious and fine, I take off
I turn it and I look into the awesome vision of the white knight
and after a moment of staring into the empty visor
I hurl across the room
The echoing thunder of metal against stone
ringing in my ears
My sweat soaked hair flows down
and tickle the scars that cover my face
My ears,
blue orbs swimming in a pool covered with red weeds
try to focus in the dimness of the room.
I struggle to the bed
amd flop down on it
my muscles and bones aching and creaking
with every movement
And with the armor off
the world assaults me
my troubled thoughts return
the loneliness of my heart floods black
the insanity that lurks in my shadow slips closer
And in the solitude
of the little room
The plain sight is bared for all to see
For when the crowds disperse
and the king leaves
When the sword is laid down
and when the armor falls away
The Glorious White Knight
is no more than a man

i think it is showing how even if someone appears so strong they are still human. if they kill they too feel the pain. they stand in front of a crowd gloriously covered in blood but when the crowd is gone blood is still blood and a life has been taken
i suppose... to put it in terms of knights anyway - Report As Spam
