• Mellow, calm, numb, sleepy
She stares up as silence is creeping
    Empty shell with memoirs inside
Lying in the debris with nothing to hide
She lies there alone away from the door
Breathing is slowed, sprawled on the floor
Do not knock, do not come in
It takes her so long to get back again
    Alone in the blue
    Not thinking of you
    Alone in the blue
    Just out of view
In dimmed natural light, the rest are turned off
She lies there alone, and lost in her thoughts
On the floor next to the bed
Magnificent things do fill her head
    Colors dance, images breathe
She let her fingers do all the singing
Up on the stage while she plays her guitar
She climbs up the side, she climbs real far
    Then sinking back to reality
    With no thoughts of brutality
Sinks back to the most familiar place
Staring at the ceiling, a grin on her face
Sinking back to the irony and truth
    She lies in the dark,
    Alone in the blue
