-
I heard a silent knock,
at my bedroom door,
I arose slowly,
silently stepping across my floor.
Death was there to greet me,
holding out a hand,
i took it, and he led me out,
to a distant land.
we traveled a long way,
not stoppingat heaven or hell,
he was leading me,
tward immortality.

- very interesting. the start of the first stanza already indicated of Death's simple gesture... like it does not sweep you like a storm, in fact it is reassuring and calm as suggested by "greet me holding out a hand". another thing I find quite fascinating is the last stanza on the 2nd line "not stopping at heaven or hell". I hold this same belief since where Death might lead me is someplace between heaven and hell. It's uncertain to me where I stand. short but well written.
