• Dear Facade,
Please make me a better person,
Tie up my debauched traits and intern them out of reach.
Impair them and hold them hostage.
Never let odium surge through my blood again.

    Please prevent me from bleeding,
Teach me to mask my emotion,
    Don’t reveal it to anybody,
    Ever.
Let it be our little secret.

    Bequeath me with buoyancy,
Teach me that sadness isn’t worthwhile,
Teach me that there is more to life than affliction and war,
Tell me that there are other ways to solve things than violence.
Teach me that nobody has to get wounded.
Teach me that I don’t have to wound myself.

    Make me earnest,
Teach me to think around corners,
So I can always see ahead.
    So I can be prepared.
    So I know what’s coming.
So I know that not everything is my error.

    Make me liberal and benevolent,
So I can share understanding with my friends.
Teach me to share experiences astutely,
    So they won’t get hurt.
So they won’t be hurt like me.

    Hide my scepticism,
    And immerse me in sanguinity,
    Teach me right from wrong.
Teach me the difference between glee and gloom.
    Teach me how to overcome.
Teach me how to be unique.
Teach me how to be a better person.
