• Please, those who read,
    Listen!

    Listen to my words,
    Listen!

    Calm thy spirits,
    Listen!

    Breath the free air,
    and Listen!

    What do you hear?
    Listen.

    Leaves scuttling fitfully,
    across a cold paved road.

    A chill wind has risen,
sweeping us all up and onward.

    The darkness, closing in,
    opens its arms wide

To embrace us. To hold us.
    To consume us.

    Silence! May the darkness pass!
May the horror not see us here!

Yet onward it comes, closer, closer...
    And closer still...

    Listen.
    Listen.

    Silence.
    Silence.

    Gone.
    Gone...

The darkness creeps back to its home,
    hides among the silence,

    and the fallen leaves,
    the fallen leaves.

    Sunlight reaches tentative fingers,
    The earth sighs in welcome.

The darkness is gone, the moment, passed,
    The silence... it is broken.
