Integration oh integration,
I see you at the edge.
Will you fall or save us all?
I watch you from the bridge.
The sun has set, candles lit.
We'll march until the dawn.
Until our voices break the night,
those voices of the strong.
Oh to my brothers and sisters,
yes all together now.
Say no to segregation,
break through the "snowy plow."
March on to the State Capital,
that up holds the solem pledge.
That someday will come, we'd have finally won
and saved ourselves from the edge.

Description:
this a poem that I wrote for my government class when we were reading about the civil rights movement. the project was to right a poem as if we were apart of the movement. mine was related to the desegregation of schools across america.
Segregation meant that blacks were not allowed to go to the same school as whites.
where as Integration meant that they were.
anyway, I hope you like it. - Date: 04/17/2010
