• I feel my wall crumble.
As her hand slides past mine
    "And ignore the icy tears,"
I looked in her eyes and lied,
    "I promise I'll be fine."

IMy cold feet just froze over,
As the tears run down her face
    But that is not what I told her;
I looked in her eyes and lied,
    "I promise we'll be fine."

    The sun above falls faster.
I see her die a bit inside,
Adding to the damage that's progressing.
I tell her to sleep, though I know she won't be resting.
But I looked in her eyes and lied,
    "I promise you'll be fine."

The sun is gone and a black cloud is near.
It took her away from here.
And I see them put her inside the ground,
They ask me to speak though no words can be found.
But I simply looked in her dead eyes, dead eyed, and lied,
    "Everything will be fine."
