I Have a Disability
I have a monster, she fights for control
With sweet lies and harsh punishments,
Keeping me, my soul, on a short leash.
I have a monster, she makes me afraid
Of opening up and letting them too close,
Of their words, of what they think and do.
I have a monster, she wants me to hurt,
Tempting razors and fists over my flesh
Because I deserve the cuts and the bruises.
I have a monster, she makes me suffer
Twisting their words and their actions,
Twisting the knife stabbed in my soul.
I have a monster, she fights for control
But I fight back twice as hard as she,
And I will never let her take total control.
I have a monster, she makes me afraid,
But I will not give in to the nightmares
And I will face my fears, I will not hide.
I have a monster, she wants me to hurt,
But I will fight off those dark addictions
And I will prove to her that I deserve better.
I have a monster, she makes me suffer
But I won't give in, and I will endure it,
I am stronger than her, she'll never win.
