    In the dark it flickers, cuddling the depths of the Aphotic Zone –
    resting in-between the alien creatures without sunlight.
    Where the songs of dolphins only wish they could reach
    the ones that advance there – sleeping tight.

    They – those beautiful jewels hanging far off into the ocean
    free-float about the water – pulsing, glowing (forever free);
    A treasure far from mankind's grip, one they can never achieve.
    Swimming in endless unison, beautifully, deadly gems of the sea.

    Gracefully gliding among the soft light of others –
    it swims in this dark flooded alley, without hurry or rush.
    Lightweight hovering, carelessly, in the darkened abyss,
    it's arms slithering through waves – long, lovely and lush.

    They're denizens of the dangerously sweet slumber of the oceans depths.
    Astounding, how a single touch, from this exotic dancer of the deep,
    can cause a certain pain, a certain death – from its kind mercurial soul.
    Drifting off in its monotonous flow of movement, it is never to sleep.

    It ventures in the deep, passing off a beautiful gift
    of a marvelous dance of transparent-silk, through the cold –
    underneath the silently glistening water, above the basalt rock,
    around the darkened depths. Their poisonous palms no one may hold.

    Hidden in the waters edge, it settles in-between the rocks; unnoticed.
    Clear, a pale blue, bright purple, deep red or yellow – its various colors charming;
    pulling bystanders into its alluring, languidly calm, movements – sharing its luminescence.
    Those gracefully moving tentacles waltzing with the waves are forever harming.

    In the oceans rich streaming bed, whose darkness consumes,
    it shines a glorious pond of light – dissolving the quivering dark
    with its smooth, seductively lulling inner flame pulsing with life;
    the unnoticed breeze of gentle movements, rising and falling without any remark.

    Its light seems like a guardian, a depressingly pulsing fire –
    in the dark its akin to a savior answering the push and pull of the tides.
    Floating free. Calmly shifting with the water, following its salty lead
    through the murky scenery before it; it silently, peacefully, glides.

    And with its flare of light it keeps wandering off deeper into the dark –
    travelling below the wash of shadows. Swallowed by the depths of the ocean,
    it is like the stars in the night sky – delightful with its gentles strokes.
    Without complaints, it smoothly moves, slowly receding in an onward motion.
