To speak, or not to speak--that is the question.
Should one choose to be silent?
Or should one choose to raise their voice?
To speak one's thoughts can be gratifying and endearing.
But also, to speak one's mind may be a blunder.
A wise person shall consider their words before releasing them.
Only a fool would babble about a matter they do not even comprehend themselves.
But if silence takes hold, what risk, what purpose do they have?
Do they not appear only to take up space?
A voice that is mute can almost be invisible.
But even the meek have a voice.
To speak or to remain silent?
Does a voice define who we are?
Do words alone characterize us as worthy or unworthy?
If one chooses to speak, they show courage and boldness,
just as that of someone that is speechless.
Quiet individuals can also show boldness by not verbalizing;
some things are best left unsaid.
And in that, there is wisdom.
For it is not the quantity of the words we say,
but the quality and value behind them.
Words, like gold, should be handled with care.
They are not meant to be false, but to be reflected in a
matter of truth. Counterfeit gold loses its value.
Like the words of a liar or hypocrite, they have no meaning
and are worthless.
But the pure and honest find that if they must speak,
they speak in a way that cannot be deceiving.
They do not lie, nor boast, nor do they criticize.
