• Try As He May

T'was passion that run in his veins
That kept him up and running for her
To lose his love was his ultimate bane
Refusing to turn to the arms of another.

Still, despite all this, try as he may
He could not find her, much to his dismay.

    'O handsome young lad,'
says the father of the nation,
'Let go of this, or you shall grow mad
putting that mind of yours quite out of motion.'

'No!' replies the boy, eyes wild with his want
'A life without her is out of the question!
I must find her, that girl whom I want
Or I shall die than live a life without passion!'

Still, despite all this, try as he may
He could not find her, much to his dismay.

Weeks crawl by, now it was Autumn
The boy lay in bed, sickly, in the midst of his mission
For he could no longer think of where else
The damsel have flown off from his vision.

Parched were his throat and his heart
Missing the lovely vision he had on that very day.
O how it anguished him, how it burned his heart
To think that he'll never find her, come what may.

Still, despite all this, try as he may
He could not find her, much to his dismay.

    But wait!
His eyes started to draw to a close.
But his ears betrayed him not.
    That voice!
It sounded far, and now it was close
The voice of a woman, unfamiliar it was not!
