Nikki's eyes widened. He stuggled against his bonds. Vince grinned at him "what's wrong little Nikki? Guess you won't become a don after all? YOU never deserved it anyway, it should've been ME from the start. You're just some spoiled rotten son of a don who has his future ALL laid out for him." Vince frowned. "well, let me lay it out for you now." He pressed the gun teasingly into Nikki's forehead. "you aren't going to live past today." He whispered in Nikki's ear. Nikki was stunned, tears streamed down his face. He wasn't ready to die! He was only 13!!! What about Fatale's birthday coming up this next month? He hadn't even known her a year, and what about Cassidy??? Nikki shook his head pleadingly. Vince looked at him. "Oh? You don't want to die? Now that IS a shame, isn't it. Get used to the idea." Vince was clearly enjoying toying with Nikki's emotions. Vince strolled over to the ledge of the building, taking out a cigarette, offering one to Marc, who gratefully accepted.

Nikki struggled desparately. A hysterical look on his face. It wasn't possible...not now! Not yet! Marc kicked him sharply in the side. "Shut up you little pest." Nikki fell to his side. He became aware of the pain in his shoulder again, he looked over and realized he was bleeding profusely, it looked like a gunshot wound. Marc must've shot him when he was fighting with Vince...

Vince whirled around. "that's enough." He raised his gun once more to Nikki. "I hink It's time we ended this. Nikki looked at him, defeated, awaiting the unevitable, the it came, a loud gunshot, then another, then another. Nikki felt two his, one in his stomache and one glancing off his collarbone. He screamed. Black closed in all around him. Thats when he heard the sirens.
"Dammit!" Vince yelled.
"Let's go, he'll be dead in a matter of minutes." Marc said back to him.
Nikki's eyelids fluttered as they ran past him as he bled onto the ground. The last thing he saw was a woman with a gun and a badge bursting into the rooftop door after Vince and Marc ran down the fire escape. He'd recognized the woman from the news...Officer Sophie Carson. She ran over to him and shouted something, and Nikki's eyes finally shut.
