Nikki kept on with his life, he soon became unable to show pain. Nikki started being an assasin full time. Vince thought this was extremely entertaining. He would never fail to mention what Nikki had lost.

Nikki would get smacked every time he questioned it though. However, once, right after his 14th birthday, Nikki witnessed something...interesting. He was walking past Giovanni's office when he heard voices from inside. Nikki stopped. It was a woman's voice....Nikki's father barely ever talked to women. Nikki looked through the crack of the door and saw his father, but the woman was out of sight.
"Don't be insane Angela. It will never happen."
"Please, just once, may i meet him, then i will be out of your life forever."
The voice was pleading, and the voice of someone about Giovanni's age.
"Angela, listen to yourself! You shouldn't have come back, that wasn't in the original plan."
"Giovanni, please!! He doesn't even have to know!!! I just want to see him, just once."
Giovanni leaned across his desk and there was the loud sound of a slap and the whimper of a woman.
Giovanni looked across the desk coldly. "Get out Angela, and never come back."
Nikki heard the sound of her, crying softly. "I will not Giovanni, you cannot keep me from him, you'd have to kill me---"
Giovanni leaned across the desk again, grabbing at what Nikki guessed was her neck. "That can be arranged."
The woman let out a shaking breath. "I'm not afraid of you Giovanni."
Slap.
"Get out." Giovanni said softly. "You are as stubborn as he is."
The woman sobbed again. "If you will not let me meet him, tell me what you named him, give me a picture, anything. Please."
Giovanni rolled his eyes.
"Nikola Valentine."
Nikki's eyes widened as the woman came into view. She had long black hair to her waist and piercing red eyes, the same eyes that haunted Nikki's sleep.
