The long forgotten lore of my life
When I feel like it I'll update with my thoughts, views, nonsensical ramblings or events. Just another look into my chaotic enough life. I never know what's going to happen.
Part one of a dream realized
Tuesday, May 27:

Stop the presses! This is totally a time of celebration for me. For three long years I toiled and labored and today, about 2:50 p.m. my time, I managed to type up the final paragraph of chapter 28.

Now, you're asking, why is this important? Well, my friend, this is special because this is the end of part one of my novel. In order for me to publish my book (with the publishing company I'm looking at called Outskirts) I have to break it up. They only accept books about 250 pages at a time. Right now, stopped at chapter 28, I have 196 pages. Still, this doesn't account for about 5 chapters I need to rewrite and, with the way I'm going, I'll just reach my 250 limit when I'm done.

You may think, "it took you three years to write up 196 pages? How slow are you? Were you procrastinating the whole entire time?". Remember, and take note of this, that I began this in High school (with a busy schedule of girl scouts, band, and various clubs and other after school functions). Also, after High school, I quickly got a job and was given a third key manager position which eats up a lot of my time. Ergo, three years, with hardly anytime to write at all, is rather impressive.

I can't believe it. I'm so happy! Feeling accomplished with my masterpiece so far, I can't wait for this thing to finally become a reality. I've worked too long and hard on this baby of mine for it to fail now.

Looking back at my god awful copies of the chapters I had even typed up a year ago, the ones I've rewritten reflect much more of a darker mood. Names changed, personalties tweaked and past stories rewritten, it's the best piece I've managed to pull out of my labyrinthine brain of mine so far. More adult and mature, the scenes have been amped- description wise- to try and create the most realistic experience I can.

Problem is... I need a title for the first novel. The second novel already has one picked out. Still, I need one before I can send it into the publishing company I'm zeroing in on.

I can't tell you how hard it was to write chapter 28 up. Not only did one of my beloved characters die in it, but it both saddened and excited me that I was nearing the end of my dream that, upon starting almost three years back, I never fathomed that I would even come close to completing. To me this is a dream come true.

I could cry right now! I'm ecstatic that this is running smoothly! My only prayer is that I'm able to finish the second half of the novel series, summing up the plotline and wrapping it up. Writer's block is always a curse in my family.

The next book, or part two of the series, is going to start off with a summary chapter. Rehashing, it's not going to be as action heavy as the other ones have been. I've also noticed a trend. On average my chapters, written up on the computer, are about 8 pages long. However, when squashed and printed out into book format, 8 pages is actually going to become more.

I'm actually looking forward to the second part of the book. There's more action, a tad more romance, and, sadly, even more deaths. In the end a little less than half of the main characters will survive or remain uninjured. Also, one or two new characters will be introduced, including a personal favorite of mine. He's British and he's one of my more sarcastic but street wise halflings. At first he seems to have a cold persona but, after a while, you grow to like him.

Wish me luck!!

heart Peace out, ya'll! heart

Me either. Now is just the long, agonizing process of formatting it and doing the final throes of editing. This is the, uh, "not fun or exciting" part of writing any book. This is when, after reading each chapter over and over, you start to get sick of your own book. lol!

Arigato Art-san!! lol. They are proud. Then again, dad is now saying, over and over, "you have to do your researching wise (for a publishing company)". He's obsessed with me not getting screwed over, which is good AND sweet of him.

rolleyes sigh* parents have a tendency to do that. oh well, they're words of wisdom...sometimes... xd

Sometimes. xD When it comes to my mom's "words of wisdom" for this book, it's interesting. A lot of the time I use actual demon names in my book. Legion, for instance. My mom is highly, well, superstitious. She keeps going, "do you have to use real demon names and terms?" I always ask her why she's worried, and she always responds, "because you could be provoking something".

My family is a tad religious, but, frankly, demons... Like a massive Erebus is going to slaughter me!

True, three years may not be a lot, Angel, but... I don't know. I should have finished way before now even! lol. No real new characters, I just simply named two types of demons found in my book. xd

Three years, yeah, can be long... Oh man, I LOVE new characters too. However, I try to keep them to a minimum so the reader's brain doesn't explode whilst trying to remember all of them. The British half demon has to be my absolute favorite from my second book. He even speaks in the appropriate slang and everything (had to research). I know him so well that I can even respond to anyone like him.
