One good thing about this campus-you can see the night sky fairly well. There's a trail that leads through the woods to an open field and a cabin, and it blocks out most of the light pollution. True that the idea of walking through the woods at night on a dark trail to a field with plenty of hiding places for freaks is not the smartest idea I've had in a while, but I'm not dumb enough to go it alone. Besides, it's too pretty to ignore, especially if you're the astro-geek as I am.
Oh, and the field gets all sparkly, because under the grass and straw there's tons of fireflies.
It's so pretty.
I'm just waiting until I can back out there on a night were it's not so cloudly, especially if I can get one around late October/early November when my favourite constellations start rising.
Le sigh...
I am getting better, by-the-way, about socializing. After working all day Saturday filming the Talent Show and the rehearsal beforehand, I did go out with some other crew members and friends [they're the ones that showed me the trail]. Then later I watched a movie with them instead of huddling alone in my commons room trying to watch Adult Swim [it's not like I can get a good signal anyway...freakin' drives me crazy].
And I sat with some people at lunch I don't really know instead of sitting alone by a window like normal. I mean, how the hell else am I gonna make any friends?
