I walk past the same tree whenever I can. I usually walk past it everyday when I'm done with my classes. It's this great oak tree, which is truly great. I always feel compelled to look up and see if there's anyone in it.
I know it's sad, but I always want to look up and see Hiei-san in the tree, scowling down at me. This isn't some silly fan girl hope that the infatuation of my life will run away with me. In fact, I've never had that infatuation for Hiei-san, I just enjoyed his character.
I don't know what it is, I mean my life really isn't so bad, but, still, there's that hope for someone to be there. I always saw Hiei-san's character as knowing more than he lets on; that he isn't as naive as we think simply because he doesn't come from the human world.
His POV of our lives is not naive, but an outsider's. An outsider looking in can see just as much, if not more, than those living the first hand experience.
I have no idea where I'm going with this. The psychiatrist in my wants to say "You're looking for proof that there is something greater out there," or "Your imagination is bored by your reality, and seeks to create a new reality for you."
I honestly don't know why I look, or why I hope,
but I know that when I pass by that tree tomorrow,
I'll look up.
