Life as a Gaian
Observations of life as a avatar in the Gaia world
Halloween
Wow, Halloween is quite the affair here in Gaia. In most lands, Halloween takes place on one night only, but here in Gaia I was able to participate everyday for at least two weeks. And by that I mean decorations, costumes, trick-or-treating... the works!

My fish even got into the spirit (hee hee) of things by donning fun masks. It was so cute of them. (By the way, my fish seem pretty happy these days. Maybe they just didn't like those silly goldfish taking up space in their tank).

Trick-or-treating was a lot of fun. All the store clerks dressed up and handed out candy every time I went into their store. Okay, well, not ALL of them participated, but most of them did. The same was true for all the houses around town. Everyone put out jack-o-lanterns and most of them gave out candy when you knocked on their door. It seems that Skittles is a favorite candy here in Gaia. Other than the occasional candy corn, I don't think I ever saw anything else. Good thing I like Skittles.

As I was wandering in around the towns of Gaia, filling my bag with yummy cavity-inducing treats, I eventually ran into a big dark guy with a pumpkin head. It was HIM, Mr Halloween himself, Jack. And Jack decided to jack my candy! eek What the....??? Hey buddy, that's just not cool!!! But just as I was reaching the stage of "forget that I'm a silly little blond girl and take on the large dark scary guy" to win back my loot, he offered me a trade instead. My curiosity got the better of me and I accepted.

It was clothes! The only thing better than bags of sweet treats are cute things for me to wear and/or sell. How did he know???

I was so happy that I went out to collect some more candy just to trade it to Jack for more cool loot. And he returned the favor nicely. I ended up with a lot of fun, halloweeny type stuff. What fun, what fun! biggrin

I even took part in the Halloween Hysteria that they had going to on to "celebrate" the holiday. It was a lot easier than I expected it to be and I ended up with a lot of....interesting prizes for participation.

My Halloween experience was harrowing, to say the least: I was candy-jacked by Jack, battled Zombies, Dark Elves, and Vampires and then became each of them in turn and battled some more, and learned how to fight evil garlic and lawn gnomes that magically and mysteriously turned to life. But nothing was a frightening as what I witnessed the other day.

I was minding my own business, walking down the street when I passed one of my favorite stores, La Victoire. I glanced in the window as I always do and saw......

POLITICS! burning_eyes NOOOOOO!!!!!!! How could this happen??? How could my beautiful, innocent world be contaminated by such evil?

I was devastated. I never thought I'd see the day that politics would find its way into my peaceful land. I ran home, slammed the door, locked every window and door I could find and hid under my bed for two days, hoping it was all a bad dream and that when I crawled out, I would wake up and it would all be okay again.

Talk about Halloween heebie-jeebies!
