Twin Snake, the Man Eater
Coming home, working and playing again, seeing old friends, meeting a new one.
I met this one, the Twin serpent, the man eater.
Slyly, gracefully she moved, twisting and turning, enchanting, intriguing.
Twin Serpent, one a young, wounded, careful, scared girl, the other a tempting, haunting, seductive man-eater.
The Calluses on my heart were hard, but tender; I would let the serpent devour me, but I knew she wouldn't want an old, out of shape, tired man.
No, her pray was a younger, more vulnerable young man.
Her twisting and turning and seductive ways drawing in my younger friend, even though we knew he wouldn't have a chance, he was too innocent, too kind hearted, too much like myself.
What is her game?
What web is she spinning?
I'm not long for this place, I'll not view the drama unfold, not first hand.
No, I'll watch the plot thicken and the story unfold from far away.
The devouring of young men and the ripping apart of young hearts, I will not say I won't weep to think of their suffering, for I have been there before, I have been drawn in by a hungry predator, and I have been devoured before.
But my heart will be safe, for now, now in the knowledge of another predator's game.
If I were only able to warn the others...to show them the peril they are in.
But, all good lessons must be learned by ones self.
For if I told them of the Twin Serpent and they saw only one, why would they believe?
No, let them see the Man-eater's true colors, that they may realize the game as well.
I cannot say my heart does not ache at the prospect of what might have been, and yet, I take solace in the fact that what "might have been" never could be.
