• Metal clashed as the pass was being guarded. The Kings Legion defended Ramura Pass as the people ran into Desert of Water. A lone soldier attacking the Defenders watched the battle from above.
“Hey Taske, enjoying the view?” A man walked up to the soldier carrying a water skin that had been passed around. “Here, take the last of it. We all know that you need it most because you just been standing here watching the battle progress.” He said handing the skin over.
“Thanks.” Taske said distracted. “Hey Riuku, why are we fighting these guys?”
Riuku answered simply, “We’re of the Fire Clan, while their the Ice Clan and everyone knows that the prophecies have foretold that the Ice will someday triumph over the Fire and we don’t mean to let that scum beat us anytime soon, excluding you Taske.”
“Sure,” Taske said not really hearing him, distracted by a person in a red coat hurried onto the craft in the water. “Hey Riuku, what are those things that they’re getting on? How does it stay up in the water?”
“Boy you’ve got a lot of questions about things from your own Clan, which reminds me to ask, why aren’t you fighting against us?” Riuku asked back.
At that moment Taske turned around to answer him but was distracted yet again by a person that had just arrived in the camp of soldiers. “Hurry Riuku we have to get over there and line or the general will have our hides.”
As they kneeled in the line with one knee on the ground and the fist opposite of it against the ground, a man in what looked like new armour stopped in front of him.
“Is this the Icer that has joined our ranks?” The man asked the group.
Riuku spoke up saying, “Yes sir! This is Taske formally of the Ice Clan but he has been revived from his past faults and has joined the truth!”
The man grabbed the back of Taskes breastplate and pulled him up to eye-level. Obviously this is a man to be feared, Taske thought to himself.
“Taske, huh? Is that your real name or is it one you made up when joining?” The general questioned.
“My known name is Taske, but I go by many names that are not brandied about.” He answered calmly.
Obviously that angered the man as he threw Taske towards the edge of the cliff where he was just standing, but instead of going over the edge he stopped in mid-air and faced the man.
“I’m not just a normal person from the Ice Clan ya know.” Taske said, “I’m one of those mercenaries that travel from clan to clan for the highest bidder. I’ve gotten my pay and can leave any time I like so I guess this is goodbye!”
He jumped back and started to fall to the ground and went past the cliff.
