• 1. Prisoner

“So how old are you?” The man asked.
“Turned 12 today. By the way, you’re creepy. Please leave.” Chance answered simply.
    “What did you say?!”
“I-said-you-are-creeping-me-out-with-your-abnormal-ugliness. L-E-A-V-E.” Chance said slowly and clearly. The man spat in disgust and stormed out the door. Wait for it… Chance thought silently. A minute later the same man came stomping back in with the head of the orphanage.
    “This boy,” The man began.
    “My name’s Chance.” Chance corrected.
“Chance, is being rather…. cocky and rude today.”
“Have a problem with it?” Chance asked.
“Chance, I thought we had a talk about your attitude.” The head of the orphanage began slowly who Chance liked to call Mr. Pig; for he did have a rather huge belly and snorts like a pig when he laughs.
“We had a talk.” Chance agreed.
“He’s just having a bad day you see?” Mr. Pig assured. The man raised an eyebrow suspiciously.
“We had a talk but I wasn’t exactly listening.” Chance said innocently. Mr. Pig stormed over and dragged Chance to the other side of the room.
“Listen you,” Mr. Pig hissed sending spittle all over Chance’s face. “You need to start learning some manners…”
“And YOU need to get a couple of breath mints.” Chance interrupted with disgust.
“You have perfectly good looks! Blue eyes like the sky, and perfect brown hair. Yet you still manage to send away every single customer that sees you!”
    “With pleasure.” Chance answered.
“No! The point is you’re making ME lose money! You are disgracing my orphanage! I was generous enough to take you in when you were abandoned and alone with no memory except your name. I expect that dept to be repaid NOW!”
“I don’t recall wanting to come here.” Chance said bluntly. Mr. Pig glared at him.
“Repeat after me, I will be nice and considerate from now on.”
“I will be nice and considerate from now on.” Chance repeated.
“Good, now go apologize.” Mr. Pig snapped. Not, Chance thought silently and walked over to where the man was standing.
“I’m sorry.” Chance said with no emotion, clearly not sorry at all.
“Why are you sorry?” Mr. Pig pushed.
“I’m sorry because I seemed rude somehow when I was only speaking the truth, and that you just overreacted.” Chance continued. Mr. Pig seemed to be on the verge of blowing up.
“I’m sorry sir,” the man began hotly. “But I can’t tolerate this child’s rudeness no longer.”
“C-H-A-N-C-E.” Chance corrected again. “ You’re pretty dang rude yourself if you can’t
call a person by his or her name. The man stormed out again and Mr. Pig ran after him trying to persuade him about the other children. Chance rolled his eyes and sat down on a hard wooden chair. Every day, it was the same thing.
“Bored?” A dark smooth voice asked. Chance looked around there wasn’t a person in sight in the small room.
“Who and where are you?” Chance asked. This was unexpected. The voice laughed, enjoying Chance’s confusion.
“Come, I will show you a better place. One where there will be no boredom.” A dark mirror appeared only it showed no reflection; only dark shadowy images. Chance stared at it in shock.
“Just walk through. Do not be afraid.” The voice continued. Chance stared at it for a few more moments.
“No.” Chance said firmly. “As horrible as this place might be that place you’re trying to take me to can’t possibly be any better.” It was silent for a few seconds.
“Very well. Then I will have to take you by force.” Suddenly dark forms began to spew out of the mirror. Chance recoiled in horror. The dark forms began to fill the room. There were lions and bears and headless humans, all shrouded in darkness. At that moment Chance did an act that any sane human being would do. He ran. He burst out the door and into the halls; getting bewildered expressions from the other kids. Chance glanced back and the dark forms were following him but the most horrifying fact was that nobody noticed. All they could see was Chance running as if his life depended on it. Chance watched as the kids disappeared as the dark forms simply passed or touched them. Not that he really cared. He had no friends and didn’t want any. Suddenly Chance crashed into a kid who was minding her own business and they both fell to the ground with a thud.
“Hey watch where you’re going!” The girl scolded furiously.
“Right,” Chance said quickly and got up. The girl grabbed him before he could start running again, her bright red hair flaring.
“You’re suppose to say sorry or help me up idiot!”
    “Fine, sorry now let go!”
    “You call that an apology?!”
“You wanted a sorry you got a sorry! Now let go of me!” Chance snapped impatiently. The dark forms were closing in on them.
“No!” The girl insisted stubbornly. Chance cussed under his breath, pulled the girl to her feet and began to run again; dragging her along.
“Hey what are you…” She gazed behind her. “What the heck ARE those things?!”
    “You can see them?!”
“DUH! They’re as clear as day!”
“Good now start running!” She let go of his hand and quickly began to run on her own.
    “Hey you!” She began.
    “My name’s Chance!”
“Fine then my name’s Amber! Anyways, what are those things and why are they chasing us?!”
    “How should I know?!”
“Well then what the heck are we going to do? We can’t run forever!” Amber snapped. Suddenly her expression changed. “Uh oh.”
    “What now?!” Chance asked.
“Fern! Hey Fern! Start running!” Amber called. Chance noticed a blond haired girl about the same age as him and Amber, turn and stare at them for a moment then her eyes widened in shock.
“Amber! What ARE those things?!” She cried out.
“Never mind that!” Chance snapped. “If you can see them start moving!” Fern quickly joined them and winced when she saw all the other kids disappear one by one.
    “Where’s Tim?” Amber snapped.
“I-I don’t know,” Fern stammered. “Think he said something about his computer and…”
“Dang it!” Amber spat. “Him and his computer!”
    “Any plans?!” Chance asked.
“No! That’s why we need Tim! He’s a nerd but he definitely would know what to do!”
“Did someone say something?” A voice asked. Chance turned. A boy with messy black hair also around 12, looked up from his laptop.
“Tim! Get your lazy bum off the floor and start moving!” Amber yelled furiously. Tim looked at her like he was crazy for a moment then saw the dark forms closing in on them,
    “What ARE those things?!”
“Just MOVE stupid!” Chance snapped. Tim shut the laptop, got up, and joined them.
“Nobody but us notices them?” Tim asked looking around.
“Apparently so.” Chance answered. “Any plans on what to do?”
“Well yeah but…” Tim began tentatively.
“But what?! We don’t have any other ideas just spit it out!” Chance spat impatiently.
“We have to get out of the orphanage.” Tim said at last. It was silent for a moment.
“So what’s so bad about that?” Chance asked. Tim looked at him like he was crazy.
“What are we going to do when we get out? We have to eat and we need somewhere to sleep too!”
“We’ll worry about that when we get out.” Chance said simply.
    “But…”
“Hey we’re in a life or death situation here!” Amber pointed out. Tim was silent for a moment.
“Fine. We need to turn at that corner.” Tim muttered, not liking this at all. They quickly sped up and turned.
“Hey Fern! Come on!” Amber called.
“Okay,” Fern said panting softly, suddenly she fell over and tripped.
“Fern!” Amber screamed, skidding to a stop. Chance and Tim stopped as well.
“Fern move!” Tim yelled. Fern sat there shaking, petrified at the gruesome sight of the dark forms that were advancing toward her.
“How the heck can you trip on flat ground?” Chance spat and began to sprint toward Fern. He reached Fern and stopped for a moment.
“Hey Tim if this doesn’t work go on without me okay?” Chance said quickly. Before Tim could say a word , Chance shoved Fern out of the way and stood by a window.
    “Chance you’re not…” Tim stammered.
“We’re on the second floor idiot!” Amber yelled. Chance ignored them, took a deep breath, and smashed though the window. Fern would have screamed if her throat wasn’t so tight with shock. Chance almost felt like he was floating mid-air for a few seconds before he began to plummet down. There was a high pitched screech that sounded like nails on a chalkboard and the forms crowded around the window as they watched their target get swallowed up by the trees below.

Fern watched in horror as Chance crashed through the window and vanished.
“Should we have a moment of silence?” Amber asked. “Oh we shall here by have a moment of silence for Chance who we only knew for a few minutes, and he acted like a total jerk but…”
“We don’t know if he’s dead yet!” Tim insisted sharply. The trees might break his fall.”
“True.” A dark voice hissed. They all whipped around as a man stepped out from the shadows. He was dressed in a tall black hat and suit and his raven black hair was combed neatly. Amber quickly helped Fern up and they both went back to where Tim was standing.
“Jumping off from the second story; I didn’t anticipate that.” He continued smoothly with no emotion. “A rash decision but it had it’s purpose. He most likely thought he could have foiled my intentions or at the least divert my attention from you.” He jabbed a finger at Fern. He paused. “Do you know of one named River?”
“Who?” Amber asked. The man smiled wickedly and began to laugh.
“Then he must be alive after all. This will be very interesting. Also….” He turned to the dark forms.
“Come!” He called. “You have new targets.”
“N-no way…” Tim stuttered as the dark forms again began to advance toward them.
“If you can see us then you too might have your uses.” Immediately Fern, Amber, and Tim began to run again. The man watched the chase silently until they disappeared around the corner. The mirror once again popped up from nowhere.
“Very interesting indeed…” the man said darkly, a cross expression appearing on his face before he disappeared into the dark shadowy mirror.

Chance thought he would never open his eyes again. He lay there for a few moments on the bushes he landed on before getting up. He slowly looked around for any sign of the dark forms that were chasing him. To his relief there was only wet grass and trees and the huge iron gate that led the way out. Suddenly there was a high pitched screech and spotted the dark forms pouring out the window toward him.
“Great,” Chance spat sarcastically. “Just great.” He began to run again this time for the gate. Like Tim said, there was a better chance of losing them if they get outside. Chance reached the gate and pulled. Locked. Chance spotted the huge padlock keeping the gate closed and looked around for a rock he could break it with and quickly went over his options. The gate was too tall and slippery from the rain so he couldn’t climb it. And there was nothing to break or open the padlock with; much less the time to lock pick it. The dark forms were closing in fast 3 forms were closing in faster then the others. Chance looked closer. They seemed oddly familiar.
“MOVE!!!” Amber yelled as she sprinted toward. He quickly moved aside as she smashed the lock with her foot. The gates creaked forward as the padlock fell to the ground, broken. Without a word they all sprinted out and kept running forward; not caring where they ended up as long it was far, FAR away from the hideous dark forms that were slowly becoming but dark spots. The orphanage was luckily on the outskirts of the town so nobody saw their escape. As soon as the dark forms were out of sight they collapsed on the field right next to the town panting, but otherwise silent. For a few seconds anyways.
“WHAT THE HECK DO YOU THINK YOU WERE DOING?!” Amber screamed at Chance.
“Well..” He began struggling to not start yelling himself.
“WELL WHAT YOU STUPID DIMWIT! YOU COULD HAVE BEEN KILLED AND I’LL HAVE YOU KNOW WE WOULD HAVE HAD A MUCH BETTER CHANCE OF
SURVIVING IF YOU HADN’T DONE THAT CRAZY SUICIDAL JUMP!” Amber snapped angrily. At this point Chance didn’t care if they started a commotion.
“I’LL HAVE YOU KNOW THAT IT DOESN’T MATTER ANYMORE SINCE WE SURVIVED ANYWAYS YOU STUPID GIRL!”
    “You guys…” Fern squeaked.
“OH SO NOW YOU’RE BEING RACIST HUH?!” Amber challenged angrily. “I’LL HAVE YOU KNOW I CAN KNOCK YOU DOWN EASILY AND SWIFTLY SO I THINK YOU SHOULD APOLIGIZE NOW AND CORRECTLY!”
    “Amber don’t-” Fern tried again.
“OH BRING IT!” Chance yelled. Amber swiftly moved forward and threw a punch to his head that Chance barely had time to block and got a swift kick to the gut and sailed across the field. Amber smiled smugly and pick up a long stick that sat on the ground and threw it to him. The stick landed next to him but Chance was no longer conscious.
“Think you’re so mighty now hot shot? Use the stick. You might have a better chance to survive then.” She said cockily.
“Amber I don’t think he’s conscious don’t-” Fern began. Suddenly Chance’s hand shot out, grabbed the stick and slowly got up. Amber’s eyes widened in shock. Not only were Chance’s eyes were a fiercer blue she could tell that this Chance was no longer the same Chance who didn’t know a thing a bit about fighting. More the opposite. Chance stood there as if waiting for her to make a move. Amber shrugged off the fact how different Chance was and charged. He just stood there, eyes focused, and both hands on the stick holding it like it was a sword. Suddenly, the second Amber reached Chance she found herself sailing across the field landing with a thud. Fern and Tim stared in shock. They had never seen Amber get hit so fast or even get hit before. Chance stood there for a moment then his eyes turned back to its usual color and he looked around in confusion.
“What just happened?” He asked. Tim and Fern’s shock turned to confusion.
    “You don’t remember?” Fern asked.
“I remember getting hit by Amber. That’s it.” Chance answered. Amber got up.
“Well just a moment ago YOU hit ME.” She was frustrated but was a little amazed at the same time. Chance stared at her disbelievingly.
    “You’re kidding right?”
“No.” they all said in chorus. Suddenly Chance’s eyes widened in shock but then he fell forward revealing a perfect replica of Chance; only he was smiling.
“What just happened here?” Fern asked.
“More importantly,” Amber snarled. “Is who the heck are YOU.” Amber jabbed a finger at the smiling Chance.
“And I shall take the chance of saying hello and goodbye.” The smiling Chance answered.
“what do you mean by tha-” Amber began, only suddenly founding herself blocking the stick that the smiling Chance had picked up and was holding.
“You’re not too bad.” He said still smiling.
“Took self defense when I was kid.” She hissed and attempted to kick him only he jumped back, avoiding it.
“Who are you and what do you want?” She snapped. His smile suddenly disappeared.
“I could ask the same of you.” He said coldly this time striking Amber and sent her sailing onto Tim.
“I’m surprised you didn’t summon any Nightmares.” He hissed.
“What do you mean?” Fern asked shaking with fear. “What are nightmares?” He stared at her for a moment.
“You don’t know?” He asked suspiciously. She shook her head.
“No we don’t and if you don’t stop hurting my friends you’ll regret it! Also why do you look like Chance?!” She asked bravely, still shaking head from toe. He stared at her for a moment then broke into a smile.
“Ah right I should have known, sorry for the misunderstanding.” He said cheerfully as if nothing happened. Amber jumped back onto her feet.
“Misunderstanding?! You just come out of nowhere and knock out Chance then attack me and-”
“I wouldn’t hurt Chancy-Chance, what are you talking about?” Amber stopped speaking for a moment.
“He fell on his own account, probably ran out of energy.” He walked over and picked him up.
“Wait, just who ARE you?” Tim asked. His grin broadened.
“My name is River. I’m Chance’s twin brother now who are YOU?”

    2. River

“Wait you said your name was River?” Tim repeated. River nodded.
    “Yup.”
“By any chance do you know a man who wears a black top hat and suit and has a sort of evil aura around him?” Tim asked carefully.
“Huh? No why do you ask?” River answered, confused.
“How do we know you’re not lying?” Amber challenged. “Chance never mentioned he had a brother.”
“He didn’t?” River asked looking a little hurt.
“No, but Amber we didn’t really talk to him.” Fern said quietly.
“But I heard the head of the orphanage say he lost his memory.” Tim argued. River beamed.
“Well then that explains it! I was a little worried there. So what’s this about an orphanage and why did you attack Chancy-Chance?” Tim introduced themselves and explained everything because Amber was still in a rather foul mood from getting hit twice. When Tim got to the part about the dark forms, River’s smile once again disappeared.
    “What’s wrong?” Tim asked.
“I think you ran into a hoard of Nightmares. Continue please.” River said tensely. As soon as Tim finished River got up.
“Looks like I have to take Chance back before he gets in any more trouble.”
“Wait, WHAT?” Amber shouted standing up as well.
“I have to take Chance back. You don’t seriously think you can hide from Nightmares, do you?” River asked.
    “Back where?” Fern asked politely.
    “Home of course.” River answered.
    “What about us?” Amber asked.
    “What about you?”
“Nightmares were chasing after us too you know.” She snapped.
“They won’t bother you if Chance is gone.”
“Yes they WILL!” Amber argued. River stopped for a moment.
“Well they might question you and it won’t hurt to take you guys along.” River said thoughtfully before breaking out into another cheerful smile. “Besides you helped Chancy-Chance~ So I guess you can come too!” Amber opened her mouth to start yelling again but Fern and Tim stopped her.
    “Thank you.” Fern said politely.
“How can we trust you?!” Amber spat.
“We both have the same enemies.” He pointed out calmly. “Besides I won’t hurt people who helped Chancy-Chance. Also where do you plan to go anyways if you ran away from this orphanage place?” Amber scowled.
“He has a point Amber.” Tim cut in. Amber went silent for a few moments.
“Fine~” She muttered grudgingly. Dark broke out in an even wider grin.
“Good. This way.” He began moving towards the town surprisingly fast despite the fact he was carrying Chance.
“How long is he going to sleep?” Amber asked, referring to Chance. “I want some answers pronto.”
“If he’s still the same Chance I know, perhaps forever. Don’t bother trying to wake him.” Amber poked Chance, which turned into a jab, then finally a punch with no hesitation. Chance still slept on peacefully.
“Hey, don’t hurt him.” River said, still cheerful as ever.
“River…” Fern began, jogging to keep up with him.
    “Call me Dark.”
“Um… Dark why didn’t you find Chance earlier? Aren’t your parents worried?” Dark’s face suddenly turned a little sad. He looked over his shoulder at Chance’s peaceful, almost angelic face.
“They were murdered. In a war. Around the same time Chance disappeared.” Dark said quietly. It turned silent.
“I-I’m sorry.” Fern stammered. Dark smiled again.
“No worries. Just don’t tell Chancy-Chance okay? I don’t want him to get all sad and depressed.”
    “Who killed them?” Amber asked.
Dark suddenly slowed down as they entered the town and his eyes turned cold.
“The same people who are slowly killing all my friends.” He jabbed a finger at the group of special soldiers walking by. On all of their chests of their uniform was an emblem that read; C.O.M.

    “C.O.M?” Amber asked. “What’s that?”
“It’s the symbol for groups of people and soldiers who destroy any trace of magic. They’re sponsored by the government and are supposed to kill or capture anybody who can use magic otherwise Magicians. C.O.M stands for Complete Obliteration of Magic. I only heard of it though since we weren’t allowed to go into the city…” Tim suddenly froze. “Wait Dark, you’re a…”
“Be quiet. They’ll hear you. I‘ll explain later.” Dark hissed, not taking his eyes off the soldiers. One of the soldiers stopped and walked up to them. They all froze.
“Hey you.” He called pointing to Dark. “Is there something wrong with him?” The soldier pointed to Chance who was still sleeping peacefully. Amber, Tim, and Fern relaxed a bit and Dark smiled perfectly.
“Nah, he’s just asleep. You can try waking him up but it’ll be hard. Now excuse us we have to go home.” Dark maneuvered around him and continued to walk only to be yanked back by the strong man.
“Do you mind if I escort you to your house Magician scum?” He spat. Instantly Tim noticed that the soldiers had quietly surrounded them. Dark was surprisingly still smiling with no hint of fear.
“No thank you. Sadly this is where we will be saying hello and goodbye.” He answered calmly. The soldier stared at him confused but Tim, Fern, and Amber, especially Amber knew exactly what he was talking about. What they were worried about is exactly how was he suppose to fend off these soldiers? Dark began to mutter something and the soldier jumped back quickly.
“Fire! Hurry!” He snapped fearfully. The soldiers raised their guns only to fall to the pavement as the ground shook. Only where Dark, Fern, Amber, and Tim were standing didn’t shake.
“Bye Bye.” Dark said cheerfully. Suddenly the ground seemed to explode and Fern, Amber, and Tim were thrown onto the hard pavement as water shot out from the ground and formed long fierce dragons that twisted and circled around the frightened soldiers; enveloping them in water.
“That should hold them.” Dark said thoroughly pleased with himself. “Now come on! This way!” Amber, Fern, and Tim followed Dark through the crowds of people gathering and they all followed Dark as he sprinted through the streets. Suddenly bullets began to whiz by them as the sirens of the police arrived.
“We’re almost there~” Dark sang as if nothing was wrong.
“Easy for YOU to say!” Amber snapped. She pointed at Chance. “And how can he SLEEP through all this?!”
“Like I said, it’s hard to wake him.” Dark answered ducking to avoid another storm of bullets. “Don’t slow down. As long as we keep the same pace we’ll be fine.”
“How do you know?” Tim asked.
“I just do. Fern speed up a bit and move slightly to your left.” Fern quickly obeyed just in time to miss a net that was shot out to capture them.
“I think there’s more then that happening here.” Amber argued.
“You’re right there is.” Dark answered simply.
“You know there’s no point in lying if you just tell the truth a second later.” Amber grumbled.
“I wasn’t lying. I just avoided the subject.”
“That’s the same thing!” Amber snapped.
“No it isn’t. Besides I hate lying and liars.” Dark said sweetly. Tim thought for a moment.
“Fine then. Can you tell the future?”
“Maybe.” Dark answered, enjoying himself as he dodged yet another net.
“What do you mean MAYBE?!” Amber yelled furiously.
“I mean maybe. Neither yes nor no~” Dark answered cheerfully.
“That doesn’t make any sense.” Amber grumbled.
“Yes it does.” Dark answered as he expertly dodged another range of shots and two nets. Tim thought for a few more moments.
“Fine, can you only tell the future only every once in a while?”
“You don’t give up, do you?” Dark asked. “My answer is no.”
“You just said maybe a moment ago!” Amber yelled furiously.
    “You’re right.” He answered.
“Then you admit you’re lying!” Amber scoffed.
    “No I wasn’t lying at all. I told you, I don’t lie~” Dark sang.
    “Hypocrite.” Amber muttered scornfully.
“So wait you can see the future anytime you want to?” Tim persisted.
    “Yes, I can.”
“ARAGGG!!” Amber screamed so loud that even the police froze for a few moments.
    “YOU-DON’T-MAKE-ANY-SENSE!!”
“Oh I get it now!” Tim said happily.
    “Humor me.” Amber growled.
“So let me get this straight. You can see the future anytime you want to but you can’t always tell what the future is.” Tim said slowly.
“Yep, you are right!” Dark said happily.
“Why didn’t you just say that in the first place?!” Amber grumbled.
    “You never asked.”
    “Yes we did.” She argued.
“No you didn’t.” Dark said humming.
“I can’t tell who’s worse, Chance or him.” Amber growled.
    “What’s so bad about Chancy-Chance?”
“Let’s see, He’s rude, stubborn, and he’s an idiot, and also…”
“Amber that’s not very nice.” Fern scolded.
“That means he hasn’t changed a bit. Yay!” Dark said cheerfully.
“How’s that a good thing?” Amber asked.
“Anyways, Dark how was Chance able to suddenly be able to fight? Did you do some kind of magic?”
“Nope, that was purely Chance!” Dark said happily. “He got better!”
“Why didn’t he use it earlier? Also who taught him?” Tim asked.
“I’m being bombarded by questions. Well first of all, Tim slow down a bit and Fern speed up. Amber you’re good as you are; we’re almost there.” Everyone followed what he said.
“Good. He probably didn’t fight earlier because he doesn’t mentally remember how to. I believe he physically remembers though, after all how could you forget? If you had personal sword lessons with my father you would understand.” His voice went a little softer as if he was remembering an old memory. “Anyway to answer your next question, Chancy-Chance disappeared around 6 years ago. One more thing before we continue…” Dark suddenly stopped running and whipped around to face them.
“Hey come on we have to keep moving!” Amber protested as they all screeched to a stop.
“You have to promise me you won’t mention or tell Chance anything about the past.”
“Can’t we promise that later?” Amber grumbled.
    “No.” He answered coldly.
    “Why though?” Fern asked.
“I have my reasons.” He answered. “Yes or no?”
“What if by chance, we say no?” Tim asked carefully. Dark grinned.
“Let’s hope we don’t find out.” He said cheerfully. Everyone nodded in agreement without a second thought.
“Okay then, This way~” Dark turned and went down a narrow alley. Everyone quickly followed him in a single filed line. They continued to make twists and turns on isolated streets and finally skidded to a stop in front of a huge brick wall. Graffiti and dust decorated the old dull bricks.
    “Now what?” Tim asked.
“There’s no one in sight?” Dark asked.
“No.” Dark held out his hand and the bricks fell away to reveal a never ending hole. The edge was crumbly like they were standing on the edge of a cliff.
“Stand right along the edge please.” Dark sang. Everyone followed his orders nervously.
“We won’t fall will we?” Amber asked. Dark looked at her strange.
“That’s a very silly question.” There was a strong gust of wind and the edge they were standing broke away as they all started to fall. Fern caught a glimpse of the bricks rearranging themselves before everything became dark and all you could hear was everyone except Dark, screaming. Dark was singing in an unknown language happily.
“Jeez calm down, this is nothing to get worked up over.” Dark insisted.
“ARE YOU INSANE??!!” Amber and Tim yelled in chorus.
“Stars?” Fern asked. “Why are there stars?” Sure enough tiny stars began to pop up as there descent slowed.
“I told you so.” Dark hummed as he landed gently on….nothing. Fern looked around. Doors. Millions of them floated around them, upside-down, sideways, they all were different too.
    “Holy….” Amber whispered.
“This way please.” Dark said cheerfully, pointing to a door. They all joined Dark as he opened the door and walked inside.
