Dear Ayame,
It has been a while since I last wrote. I’m sorry, I’ve been too busy. I’ve finally found it, though, Aya. I found the DreamCatchers building!! I’m so close to getting you back…
On a separate note, happy eighteenth birthday. Mom and Pa would be proud of you, being so strong so far away from home. I suppose this letter – and the news within it – are my birthday present to you… I wish I could give you more.
I’m amazed that you’re eighteen already! A real coming of age. Just… promise me, when we get home, that you won’t get totally wasted. The last thing I would want to do is go from pub to pub, trying to track down my baby sister and the blokes that are after her. Pa would be furious.
From the picture you last sent, you’ve grown a lot since you were taken. What Pa would call his “darlin’ li’l sheila.” But… you looked so miserable. I hope nothing too bad has happened.
I’ll get a friend from D.C. to bake you a cake… maybe Jasmyne and Kiko. We’ll buy a bunch of lollies and top the cake with them; is that alright? I’ll send you pictures of Kiko and Jas in my next letter.
Love,
Lavi
P.S. Happy Birthday, again. Your brother loves you!
