• i was not very old in 1937. only about 10 years old , for i was born in 1927.
the year of 1937 was a tuff one for all. we had little sugar, less bread , and even less food. my family was jewish.
i remember that year out of them all because that was when i was taken out
of school because of religion and the laws. my mother would sew stars on all
of my cloths. i could not have a bike because of stupid hitler's laws . my parents would not let me see the mickey mouse movie picture that was playing in the theater. monsters ! my mother would call them . my grandpa would say that he would kill them all , the german soldires i mean . i could not be seen for if the soldires found me i could be put into a camp . it was that very same year that i had to leave home and go into hiding . i remember it well .
The day was october,14,1937. it was sunny out and i was to leave with my sister janie , she was to be dressed as a boy and me a girl . i was to fallow
someone out of a train station to their home. their they would feed me and hide me from the germens.
i had to go on the train and take care of janie (she was only 6) . i also had to be the one to stay awake at 1:00 in the morning. we had little with us .
a backpack filled with dried up fish and meat and veggies, and cloths and schoolbooks , i also found my teddy and my diary ,and a photo album , and a letter. the train was smelly and its seats were brown and hard.the whole train shook and rattled every time we hit a bump. after 3 hours of being on the train , we got off. i saw a person waiting and she came over to us and
said something in polish and then showed us a picture of us. i said janie its us!
just look how funny we are!i nodded to the person and she lead us into a car.
we then begain are long jorney to our hiding place!
