• ::Kasumi's POV::

    "Kasumi-chan! The plane's here!"

    I glanced at Suzumi, who as usual towered over me, even in flats. I must have looked as miserable as I felt, because her expression of excitement immediately turned into a frown.

    "I know you don't want to move, but please do it. For me."

    A few weeks ago Suzumi's father had told her that they were moving to Tokyo. Which meant that I, who had been living in their guest house since my family had died, would have to go too. I would have to move. To Tokyo. Where everything was polluted and covered in concrete. I couldn't live there!
    Suzumi was thrilled to be moving into the big city. Of course, she would be. She hadn't spent her whole life in Hokkaidō. Moving was exciting for her.

    "KASUMI! GET OVER HERE, WE'RE GOING TO MISS IT!"

    She grabbed my hand and yanked me onto the plane. I got into the seat beside her reluctantly.
    "It'll be warm there, Kasumi-chan. No more freezing winters. Isn't that wonderful?"
    "I like the cold," I said stubbornly.
    "Hmph," she huffed. "Whatever."

    I stared out the window for most of the ride. Suzumi was constantly pointing out things that we were flying over, especially after we were over the mainland.

    I must have dozed off, because the next thing I knew Suzumi was shaking me and telling me that we were here. We got our baggage and left the airport, me staring at the city and Suzumi chattering away almost nonstop. I managed to talk a little bit, and I did admit that it was cool being in a new place. Just to calm her down, obviously.

    After that we traveled to our new house. Suzumi and I were sharing a room, because the house size we could afford here was pretty small. It didn't matter to me though. I didn't want to be alone.

    I slowly drifted off to sleep.
