• tab I looked at my watch for the fifth time in two minutes. Could this day go by any slower?! English, the most boring class, was not a good last block class. As soon as the bell rang I jumped up and dropped all my books. "Ugh" I yelled while tugging at my pants stuck under my chair. There goes my plans of beating him to the bus. Every day for the past week I tried to beat this new guy to the bus. (I am only in ninth grade and can't drive yet.) He is always so graceful whenever he walks on the bus. I can't help but stare as he passes by my seat, he never notices though. At least I don't think he does.
tab As soon as I had gathered my books I ran out of the classroom almost knocking Mr. Bell down. Definitely getting detention tomorrow, but its worth it.
I didn't even stop at my locker. People stared at me but no one hardly knew me anyway. I was out of breath whenever I made it to the bus, and to late. There he was sitting in his seat at the very back of the bus. His sleek light brown hair brushed slightly over his eyes. He didn't talk to people so he sat by himself, a loner like me. He glanced up but quickly looked away. My face was blushing bright red. He actually looked at me!
tab I walked awkwardly to my seat near the front. I was afraid to look back. I tried to doodle on my notebook to pass the time but drawing on a bus is not a good idea. So I gave up my plan and just stared out the window the rest of the way. I couldn't sit still. I had butterflies fluttering in my stomach. His face and his deep, emerald green eyes stayed in my mind. The bus came to a stop with a jolt bobbing my head forward. " Dang" I muttered under my breath. I had fallen asleep, and I knew I looked like an idiot when I slept. It was raining outside and I could barely make out the shape of my house in the mist. The bus driver had his wipers on high, and they banged against the windshield.
"Perfect, this day couldn't get any better." I glanced back at him, he was focused on something out the window. He was the last one off the bus so no one else was there.
tab I stepped off the bus almost slipping on the wet ground, and I ran to the porch. I fumbled with my key watching the bus turn in the driveway so it could turn around. Then I saw him, he was moving towards my seat on the bus and bending down to pick up something. My eyes became wide with horror as I scrummaged through my bag. I looked up at him right when the bus was driving off. He had a grin on his face and something square in his hand. "My notebook!" I gasped in horror. Now normally that wouldn't be such a big deal, but my notebook was special. It had drawings of his face, and his name written all over the front.
