    Part 1: Ijin.

“War… it’s always the same but it always changes. Every war is different. But this, this may completely change the current war frame. I-I don’t like it. But you can’t choose who is used to kill next can you. I just hope these people don’t make the same mistake I did… 10000 years ago. It’s been to long.” Diary known only by G.J. Minotaur.

It was a sunny day. A boy walked alone in the streets. He was about 5, 9 and he was skinny but you could see his muscle. He had a shirt with the Japanese symbol for “Water” on it. He had white hair, a result of some testing on him, and his skin was white. There was something square in his pocket but you couldn’t make it out. He was looking at his street. “This may be the last time I see my home in one piece.” He said. His name was Jack. He didn’t have an actual last name. He walked around. Looking at the trees, the houses, all of witch was empty. Most belongings were left inside. Jack took a new PDA because officially stated anything left behind would no longer be there’s. It had a hacker signal so he could use it. He was looking at the houses, cars, and items. He saw an orange cat wondering. He knew it was scared. He went up and pets it. It was a boy. “Well now. You need someone to come with?” Jack asked the cat. It rubbed its head against his hand. He pets it once more. Suddenly a flash of light overtook it. The light grew. To about taller than Jack. Then it stopped and dimmed. The cat now had a human form. He still had feline features but he was in human form. He was moderately muscled. Jack went into a nearby house and came back with clothes. “Change.” Jack said looking away. The cat-man changed. “So what’s your name? Mine is jack.” Jack said to the cat. “Mine is Adam.” The cat said. It was a deep voice. It sounded human. Adam wore grey shorts and undershirt. Most “Animal hybrids” preferred to feel free. Adam had no shoes. “Well do you know what’s coming?” Jack asked Adam. “Destruction. That’s all.” Adam said. “Good way to put it.” Jack said. “So is there anybody else I missed?” Jack asked Adam. “No. I am the only one left.” Adam said. Jack took out a standard issue handgun he swiped from an enemy officer from a hidden pocked. He looked for a round black plate on the ground and found one. He touched it and it came up. There was a screen and a voice asked “welcome to auto shop.” And Jack pressed a few buttons. A yellow bag that had a strap on it appeared in Jack’s hands. He gave it to Adam. “Ammo pouch. Keep it” Jack said. Adam took it and put it around his neck. The bag was around his hips. It was half full of clips. Jack started looking around again. Adam fallowed him. They both looked at there home. It was quiet. They were peaceful despite what would happen. It was very calm. Jack looked down and saw something. It was a small black item. It was a trans com. It had purple lines down its front. A wind blew. Memories flashed threw Jack’s eyes. “… and the calm heart shall win. Never forget this, for it has more than you know.” Jack said slowly. He was quoting someone. Adam was quiet. “I think I have found out what this war is finally about. I just wish I knew sooner” Jack said. Adam was still quiet. Jack pocked the item. He quickly jumped back. A large bullet hit the area where Jack just was. He took a knife out of his back pocket. “We have company” Jack said. Adam looked up. “Too much, I say.” Adam said. 3 black figures were diving out of the sky. They weren’t using there flight support anymore. When they landed they made 3 large craters. They stood up. They had wrecked there power gear part way. “They have become so “refined” that they give these suits to rookies. Wow that’s sad.” Jack said. Adam snickered. “Very right.” He said. Jack could feel them scowling. “Hey I don’t see any power suits on you.” The middle suit said angered. “What makes you think I need them?” Jack said. The suit that talked sounded young. “I’ll take the middle one you take the other two.” Jack said. “I feel it to.” Adam said. The other suits looked at the middle one. Jack could see that they looked scared. “Those suits can’t hide your power from experts.” Adam said. Jack pointed behind him and said “go!” Adam nodded and ran off to where Jack pointed. The two flanks activated there flight pattern and chased after Adam. The middle suit looked at Jack. “Well we will see who is sorry now!” the middle suit yelled. Jack crouched down and put his hand with his knife in front of him while keeping the other up. “A knife! HA!” the suit yelled. He took out a black sword handle and pointed it away from himself. A large blue blade came up. It was flat and had straight edges but the top slanted up from the front view. “Lets see.” Jack said. The suit started to run. He was moving slowly. His body hadn’t adjusted to the suit. Jack ran at full speed. He grabbed the suits arm before he could complete his swing and punched the stomach area. A crackle of electricity ran threw the suit and he stepped back. “You’re lucky you had that area repaired first.” Jack said. The suit couldn’t stand for a second. He then stood up. He started to rush again. This time faster. Jack ran full speed again and kicked the head area before the swing landed. The suit stumbled back and Jack jumped behind the suit and stabbed just to the side of the spine area. Another rush of electricity. The suit had met his limit. He fell down and was a heap on the ground. Jack walked up to the suit. “You handled it pretty well for the first time. I won’t kill you. What’s your name? Mine’s Jack.” Jack said to the suit. “Mine is Tom” the suit said. “OK. Well we aren’t to speak each others name. You never read the code. You can’t give out your name. So now when you go back to your captain tell him this. “I was spared because of pity. He says he will take you all down. He almost killed me but got distracted.” Jack said. Tom repeated it into his suit and he heard a confirmation. Tom fainted. He was half asleep. The suit made sure the body was alert at all times. Jack started repairing the damage he had done to the suit. A white glow came from Jacks hands and the suit repaired as Jack passed his hand slowly over the suit. Adam came back. He was clean. One of Adam’s shoulder straps had been cut. “Well I got bad news. They were mind youths.” Adam said. He saw what Jack was doing. “Why are you helping a Mind youth?” Adam asked. “Because he isn’t one. His body rejects the gene. He… he is a free solider. Like I am. Not bound by what I was borne with. I guess you could call him an Ijin.” Jack said. Adam frowned. As a cat Jack had told Adam everything about his birth at the empire of power. Jack ran away for because he heard about mind youths and asked about them. “If he is lucky when he finds out about the mind control they constantly use he won’t ask.” Adam said. “If he is lucky he will get out alive. There rank system. It’s a lie. They kill those who get to good. It gets hard to control them when they good control over there own mind. So they have them killed. All my masters’ stories. Fake. I only hope he never has to go threw the same pain I had to…” Jack stopped and a tear came to his eye. Tom had been awake since they started talking about mind control. He knew what an Ijin was. It was supposed to be a traitor who betrayed there own country. He took a language class and knew that if translation went in a pattern Ijin didn’t mean “traitor” but more like “one who chooses the path. Jack couldn’t tell because he was struggling with his memories. “Let’s go.” Jack said. They walked away.
