• I awaken coughing, the room is in flames and the smoke stings my eyes and the heat stings my lungs. I reach for my Battle Armor and weapons; I hurriedly put my Armor on, as I rush to the door it bursts in with a rush of flame. I slip my mace into the sling on my back as I put my belt around my waist, feeling slightly more secure as the weight of the twin scimitars rest against my hips, not realizing the heat and flames are no longer hurting me. I know my only recourse is the window; I run towards it and leap twisting to hit the glass with my back just as the flames in the doorway take the twisted form of a Fire Elemental. I slam into the window and my momentum carries me over the balcony and into the air, I fall. After only a few feet, what's left of the window is blown outward by a column of fire. I twist trying to right my form before I hit the ground, using all the telekinetic prowess of my bloodline I get my feet under me, and hit the flagstones thirty feet below my room. I run into the night as I hear the elemental touchdown in a roar of flame, twenty feet from where I am the alleyway empties into a main thoroughfare, but it is twenty feet I don't have, as a group of goblinoid monsters step out of a side door I know my run is ended. I think quickly and rush the group not bothering with drawing a weapon, I grab the two closest creatures and hurl them behind me, I thank the Gods as I hear their shrieks, knowing that my impromptu shield bought me seconds at most, I bodily slam into the next closest, relishing the sound of breaking bone, I let its broken body crumple to the ground hoping that the way is not further barred against me.
