• Chapter one: "Taken."

    The end of spring, 3:07p.m.
"Mika, hurry up! Will you?!" Yelled Alexa as the 3 year old Mika tried his best to make his way through the bushes with a small basket of wild fruit.
"I can't, my feet hurt," cried Mika, "your older then me! Why can't you do it?"
"Because we have to share the load. I already have my hands full with this basket." She argued back.
    Five seconds latter..
"Alexa, I'm hungry. Can I eat this fruit?"
Alexa got mad, and started telling him the story of: "When I was your age..." But then suddenly, out of nowhere the sound of horses running started coming from the distance. The sound got louder and Alexa stopped talking and listened.
"Mika, do you hear that?" asked Alexa.
Mika listened but the sound started to fade away.
"Oh well, what ever it is, it's gone. And besides, your 6 not 3 anymore. So can I eat this fruit? Huh? Can I? Please..." he begged.
"Oh, ok. BUT ONLY ONE!" she yelled as Mika dropped the basket and started digging through it looking for the biggest fruit he can find.

    Mean while... at the village.

Ruko (Mika's dad) was fixing the roof to his hut. As he was about to swing the hammer, he catches the eye of his wife that's coming out of the house.
    "Hey hun." He said softly.
She smiles at him and reaches out some nuts.
    "Want any?" She asked.
He shook his head. " No thanks. But how about you take that food to the professor and Ian. They have been working hard on finding a cure to that deadly disease.."
"Ok, that I can do. I fell bad for Ian though, he's just like Alexa." She sighed.
"Yes, but we don't know for certain if he's family is dead or not. I mean, who knows, maybe he's parents are looking for him. And one day they might just find him." Ruko suggested.
His wife's eyes where filled with happiness from those words. "If only he herd you. I mean, it's making me cry fro happiness. I could never imagine losing my family. You and Mika. Little Alexa too."
He smiled back, "I couldn't either. But hurry and take the food to our *whites." He laughed.
(He says, "whites" because the professor and Ian are the only light colored skin people in the village. Oh and Alexa too. Not to be raciest or anything but as a small joke)
She nods and starts heading down the road to the professor's hut. Ruko looks around at all the villagers working, and going on with their daily lives. But exactly 20 seconds later, he hears the sound of horses running. He looks at the road that leads out of the village and listens as the sound gets louder and louder. He's eyes become blood shot as he sees 11 militate men and their leader, all riding into the village. The villagers where all scared and shocker, but started running away from the road in fear of getting run over. "What are they doing here?" Ruko asked himself. But then it came to his senses that the men where all heading in the direction of the professor's hut. With ought hesitation he jumped off the roof and started running in their direction.

    In the hut...

"I finally figured out the cure!" Yelled the professor happily.
"Really? What did you use?" Asked Ian.
"I just added some spired juice. But here.. I wrote down the formula. If you like, you can hold on to it. Just remember, don't lose it and don't give it to anyone you don't trust, promise?"
Ian started laughing. "I promise. Only if you promise that you won't forget my birthday this year."
The professor went his desk, opened it and took out a small gift box.
"Here," he said, "you can open it even though it's not you birthday for another 2 month."
"Yay! But, why now?" asked Ian.
"Because I'll probably lose it by the time your birthday comes." He started laughing.
Then, all of a sudden, the leader of the military steps into the hut. He looked straight at the professor.
"Long time no see, Mark." said the Admiral.
"Get out of my hut, and leave this village alone." the professor demanded.
"Come now old man, I just want to chat. It's been a while since you left the military."
"All I wanted was to be a doctor and you had me go around and make poison and acid for torture. I'll never go back to doing that. You hear me, NEVER!" he started yelling.
The Admiral ignored everything he said. "So, I hurd you where looking for the cure to one fo the deadliest diseases. It would be a shame if you didn't share your discoveries with the king."
"I told you, I don't work for you anymore, and even if I found a cure, I would never give it to you." he protested.
The Admiral smiled as a black woman walked into the hut. Then he look out a guy and pointed it at the professor.
"Miss, tell me if the professor found a cure or not. If you lie, I will shoot him."
    "NO!" yelled Ian.
The admiral looked at Ian and was surprised at what he saw.
"Who.. who are that child's parents?" He asked.
"He was no parents," answered the professor, "we found him in the jungle when he was only 2.."
"LIES! You kidnaped him," he yelled with furry, "now I'm gonna ask you one more time, do you, or do you not have the cure?!"
    "No." whispered the professor quietly.
"Then you are no longer of any use to me." He said and pulled the trigger. With a loud bang, the professor fell to the floor. The woman screamed, but the admiral ignored her and just picked up the boy who resisted to be touched. "Put me down!" yelled Ian.
"Now, now. Is that anyway to treat your father?" He said with a laugh. Ian stopped resisting for a moment. And looked at the man holding him. "What..?" said Ian confused. As the man started to walk out of the hut he looked at the woman on her knees next to the professor. "Don't worry, you'll be joining his soon." he said. The woman looked up at him as he swung the door shut and locked it.
"Set every hut on fire. Starting with this one. Take the boy and bring him to my mansion. Kill any man or woman that stands in your way," he ordered, "I will wipe this horrid village off the map."
