• Chapter 1: Mistaken

I was running towards my new school. I was late. I was panting heavily. My knees gave out and I fell. I couldn't breathe. My asthma was acting up. I felt for his inhaler. It wasn’t there. "Somebody...anybody" Then everything went black.

I woke up later. Everything was so bright that it hurt my eyes. I blinked. There we go. I sat up and my head spun. I looked around myself and found a mirror. I looked into it and saw my usual brown hair, boyish face, and blue eyes sort of deal. Oh, where are my manners? My name is Adrian Taily. I am a boy of 13 and I am in the 7th grade. Now back to the room, it was white and black. I swung my feet out and realize that I was in a bed. I quirked my eyebrows. Where was I? I wondered. I touched my feet onto the ground and made sure that there was a floor underneath me. I didn’t know why I did that every time I got of something. Maybe it was psychological. Maybe it was something that had happened into my young years. I walked to the door. Just when I almost reached the door, I heard a noise.

Crack! I jumped and ran back to the bed. I was TERRIFIED of thunder storms and lightning. I carefully walked back out of bed, feeling at the floor again. I opened the door. “Hello?” The hallway scared me. It was dusty and cobwebbed. I shuddered. The walls looked as old and a wrinkled old lady. I saw rats and spiders skittering across the floor. I walked out and tiptoed down to another door. I opened it. Steep sets of stairs were in front of me. Cobwebs covered the walls, like the hallway. I quickly shut the door and crept down the hallway, the other way this time. I saw another set of stairs, but it was leading downstairs this time. I walked down it and saw a room. My jaw dropped. It was so different form thee hallway that it surprised me. I quietly tapped across the linoleum floor. Around a corner, I saw a big dining room table. There was no one around. I went into the room and leaned against the wall. “Hello there.” I jumped off the ground. I looked around frantically to the source of the voice. I saw a man standing on the landing from the stairs. “Well hello there. My name is Zander. Alexander.

I stared at the man who claimed that his name was Alexander. “Well, who are you? Why am I here?” I asked.
