• Some times in life there are things we take for granted. People say you never really know what you have until its gone, they could not have described it better any other way. This is my story, how i lost everything important to me. This story isn't for the faint of heart. This all started on the last day of my life.

The air was cool and the sun was setting off in the horizon. The light was fading as the sun set deeper off in the distance. A calming breeze blew across the grass. I was starring into the eyes of an angel. The only other person in this world I could talk to and tell anything to. I could see my face in the reflection of her deep green eyes. She kissed me softly and wrapped her hands around my shoulders into a hug. She buried her face into my chest and spoke so softly.

"It's getting late Ryan, are you sure you wanna walk in the dark?" her voice lingered. Her voice always calming and relaxing like the first spring rain. I struggled to clear my throat without her noticing.

"Courtney..." her name rolled of my tongue. I felt sparks when ever I said her name aloud.
" Don't worry about me, I'll be fine."

I held her close to me, I ran my hands through her silky smooth hair, and kissed her forehead.
    " I Love you, court"

She smiled and her face seemed to glow in the darkness. Whenever every thing else was covered in the Hellish darkness that was my life, she was the source of purity that could chase my demons away. I squeezed her waist one last time, turned and walked off into the darkness.

I was getting used to walking in the dark. It never really bothered me. I Felt comfortable, accepted. I ran my hands through the leaves of the brush on the side of the road. The leaves felt cold and wet, like it just rained. My shadow was cast by the bright moon hanging above. Breaking through the clouds. The shattered beams of moonlight reminded how beautiful the night could possibly be.

A dark figure shifted in the shadows. I froze, Chills ran up and down my spine and danced on the back of my neck. I could feel something was watching me, following me, almost studying me. I listened and held my breathe. A shadow shifted in the brush. The moon was covered in black clouds, and it became very dark and cold. A pair of golden eyes broke through the darkness, a smooth voice broke the deafness of my surroundings as it approached me.

A tall teenage boy approached me through the brush. He was wearing ripped up jeans and a shredded black shirt with blood covering it. His hair color was faded into a dark black silk. His arms appeared very cut and muscular. His eyes were a Dark brown with a Golden ring around the pupil. He smiled and his teeth were glistening in the dark. He had long razor fangs. A small switch blade was clicked in between his fingertips. His skin was pale and silver. his eyes looked sad and full of sorrow. He walked toward me gracefully. A small beam of moonlight struck his face for a split second. The black hair faded even deeper into a ghostly white where the light was shining. He stepped out of the beam and began to speak.

"Are you scared Ryan?" he chuckled "Afraid of the dark?"
"No... i , i was born into darkness" my voice was surprisingly calm considering the situation.
"Then your perfect for this." he paused and grinned "Let me give you a gift. I'll show you TRUE darkness".

He held out his hand and motioned for me to shake it. I just reacted and held my hand out. He wrapped two fingers around my wrist and held it with intense pressure. I tried to break his grip. He opened his knife and slid the blade against his palm.

" I've waited 16 years for this" he spoke

His sliced hand and blood poured out. His blood was thin and flowed like water. It shimmered in the moonlight. Then he cut deep into my palm and pressed his hands around my cut hand. I could feel the blood mixing. A strong burning sensation came over my hand and it traveled up my arms. I began to sweat and contort in pain. The blood was being forced into my system like a parasite. It felt like a million shards of razor blades being pumped through my veins.

My whole body was locking up. It felt like my muscles were being ripped off my bones. The pain slowly worked its way through all my body and then focused into my chest. it felt like someone had drove with a knife on fire into a broken heart. I dropped to my knees in pain. I grabbed my chest and gasped for air. Blood Sprayed out of my nose and it evaporated as it his the ground. My vision was starting to blur and shapes stated to blend with the shadows. My head was pounding with every pulse of my heart. I fell face down on the road.

The teenage boy picked me up by my shirt collar and threw me into the brush. I landed hard and couldn't move. My vision was totally gone and the last thing i remember was his voice.

"Stay away from Courtney until you have control". How did he know about her. What was he gonna do to her. I began to stand up and Blacked out half way through getting up.
