• Tatsu looked around the field. It was the usual green color. He stood there, and closed his dark eyes. His hair was black and fell at his shoulders. He turned because someone tapped his shoulder. He was about six feet tall so he looked down. "Yes?" he asked looking at Miru. She was his sister, she had blue eyes and black hair that was tied in a braid falling down to her ankles. She was about five and a half feet tall and wore clothes like Tatsu. He wore black pants, black t-shirt and a black trench coat, but Miru wore black pants and a long sleeve black shirt.
"I'm just checking up on you...You normally don't go outside much during the day, you know..." She cracked her knuckles so Tatsu slapped her hands.
"I told you not to do that!" He glared at her. She looked at him with the exact same glare.
"Well, I'm so sorry!" She said very sarcastically then looked back at their mother's house.
"She's sick again." He informed her then yawned.
"I could of guessed that, She's always sick!" She almost laughed too. Tatsu looked at her hands.
"Hey! You actual did something that normal girls do!" he laughed. She glared at him yet again.
"So what!?" she hid her hands. He laughed more. "What's so funny!?" She yelled at him.
"That you polished your nails! You never do anything like that!" He finally stopped laughing when he saw that Miru was about to punch him.
"Well, I'm not like you! Mr. I-Polish-My-Nails!" She walked to their mom's.
"Keep walking on, Godzilla!" Tatsu yelled at her. He started to laugh, until Miru turned around and started walking toward him.
"What was that!?" she asked standing right in front of him.
"Uhh... Keep walking on Godzilla... You need to learn how to walk like a lady! You walk like you're going to destroy a city or something!" He knew he could over power her, but he didn't want to get in a fight with her again. Their mom always chewed them out for fighting verbally or physically, and the last thing Miru would ever be was a pacifist.
"I'm only fourteen, I don't have to worry about that just yet!" She sighed.
"Well, I'm sixteen and I walk way better than you!" He said while he examined where her legs and arms were.
"Does it look like I care how I walk?" She asked sarcastically. He shook his head as she walked away. She knocked on her mom's door, but there was no answer. "I had to forget the key..." She kicked the door hard, leaving a mark on it. Then, she sat down on the porch. "Hnn... I feel tired, what'd I do?" she asked herself while leaning her head back on the arm of the chair. Within a few minutes she fell asleep. Tatsu looked at her, while walking to their grandparents house. He slept there normally. Miru wanted to be with their mom.
"No matter, how much Mother will cut her down... she still wants to be there..." He said stopping in front of his mother's house for a few minutes.
"It's not that simple!" She mumbled, he jumped a bit.
"I thought you were asleep!" He almost yelled at her.
"I was..." She opened her eyes, looking straight at him, "Well, are you leaving or what?" she asked poking fun at him.
"I am..." He said walking away. Miru fell back asleep, the worry that something would happen while she was sleeping bounced in her head. It wasn't good to fall asleep outside, but she was very tired. She woke up, and looked around cautiously. It was almost midnight. Something woke her up, but what? Then it hit her, the worry flew in front of her face. The door to her mom's house was open, and looked like it was pried open. She was in the corner of the porch, whoever was there hadn't seen her because of the shadows. She heard someone's voice and put her hand on the door. Then someone came out, dressed in all black. They looked at Miru. She gasped abit but hurried to her senses and got in the fight position. She had just woke up though so she was shaking and slow to react. He kicked her in her stomach, making her almost fall down, but since she had just woke up she was already in pain so it didn't affect her much. Then, he went behind her fast and hit her in the back of the head with something.
"What the..." Miru asked annoyed, falling down. Her hands flew to her head, she was in great pain. She became one with the floor. She hated being on the floor. When you are laying on the floor you have either lost a battle or you are being weak.
"Who are you?" he asked her. He sat down near her side.
"Who are you, first?" She responded, trying to get up but couldn't.
    "Call me Yoru..." He said.
"Okay Yoru..." She sighed, and pulled herself to her knees.
"Or should I call you Mr. Shin?" She asked sarcastically. She had recognized his voice. Shin was her mother's friend who had a rather calm yet psychotic personality.
"How'd you know?" he asked tilting his head to a side.
"I recognized your voice, Do you know who I am?" she almost laughed so it was in a playful tone.
"Tatsu... No, You're shorter then him and your eyes and hair are different..." He looked at her, slowly trying to remember who she was.
"What are you doing here, Mr.Shin?" She asked cracking her knuckles.
"I came here to kill someone..." He said then pushed her back down.
"Who?" She said after he pushed her down. She knew he didn't want her to stand up, because then he'd have to hit her down again.
"Tell me who you are, first!" He asked her in his usual calm voice. Miru gritted her teeth, then eyed her surroundings. No weapons she could use to react or an easy way to get out. She took a deep breathe, then looked at him.
"Can I sit up?" She asked rubbing her shoulder lightly. Tatsu and her constantly fought, and most of the time Miru was the one beaten up. She had bruises on her shoulders and legs from fighting. The bruises were hurting her.
"No! Tell me who you are then can sit up" He was still calm.
    "Miru..." She sat up.
"Miru?" he asked to make sure it was her name. She nodded. "Well, Ms. Miru, I came here to kill your Mom, but I needed some back up... so I called a few friends..." She looked at him with a more annoyed look.
"What was that? 'Ms. Miru'!? Is that some kind of sarcasm?" She yelled at him. When people called her 'Ms. Miru' they normally were telling her to wear dresses, like some tradition said that girls had to wear dresses, but she always said that she hated dresses.
"No, I was just being polite!" he responded calmly. Miru took another look around, Shin never lied. He really was here to kill her mom and she was calmly looking around trying to find something to fight back with. Chances were that he had a gun, and if she moved too much she'd get shot.
"Well, that's a chance... I'll just have to take..." she mumbled to herself slowly moving her hands behind herself. She thought of everything behind her. She wanted to grab a bottle of chemicals, but there was the chance that whatever she'd grab wouldn't be potent enough to burn Shin's eyes. She slid a hand to her pocket.
"What are you doing?" Shin asked her then almost grabbed her hand, but decided he could handle anything she was going to do.
"I'm grabbing something!" She tossed her sunglasses out her pocket close by then pulled out Tatsu's compact. She only carried his compact and some sunglasses. Tatsu would ask about his hair so she'd simply respond to the how's my hair question with the handing him his compact.
"Why do you have a compact?" he asked.
"Because... I have something in my eye!" She responded sarcastically, opening it up. "Do you have a light?" She almost thought it was too easy, She was going to pull out an eye lash and say she had it in her eye. The actual plan was to see what was behind her. Shin handed her a small lighter as Miru pretended to struggle with something in her eye. She saw Shin smile. She thought this was a nightmare. He got up and kicked her in her side several times.
"Why do you constantly have to fight?" he asked her, kicking her several times in each side. She was laying on the ground within three kicks. Tatsu's compact shattered in pieces, and her sunglasses were just shards stabbing into her left arm.
"What are you talking about?" she mumbled, even though she knew that he saw her plan from the begining.
"That you were going to spray something in my eyes then beat me down then call the police on me!" He picked her head up and slapped her. Even though she was in pain, she smiled to annoy him.
"You'll get caught, no matter what... Even if you kill me, I'll kill you" She smirked.
"What are you? Ms. Know it all?" he began to get annoyed at her.
"Nope, Mr. Know it all is Tatsu so I can't be Ms. Know it all... " She moaned a bit.
"Finally, feeling the pain?" He asked her.
"I've been feeling pain since I was born..." She said, slowly standing up.
"Stay down!" He yelled at her, pushing her back down. She bit her lip when she hit the ground, cutting it open. By now, She was bleeding from the back of her head and her left arm was nicely gashed open.
"I won't!" she crawled to a chair and pulled herself up.
"I said stay down!" Shin kicked her. She fell again, this time too bad in shape to get up. He kicked her once more to get the fight out of her. Then looked at her, She was knocked out. He laughed at her then walked back into the house.
Hours later, Miru opened her eyes. It was about three, the moon still lit the sky. She put her hand to the ground, she was beaten up worse than she had ever been, or was this the worse? Slowly, she managed to get to her feet. She looked at the door, but decided to walk over to her Grandparents or neighbor Taki's. Taki was a lot closer than her Grandparents, and he'd probably be awake. She slowly limped to Taki's. Taki looked similar to Tatsu. They both had black hair, but Taki's was longer. He had black hair and was probably the same height as Tatsu. Taki was nicer than Tatsu though. He didn't tease Miru because of how she acted. Tatsu was always on her about it. She stopped about half way there and sat down. "Heh...Small break... On the count of ten you'll start again... one, two.. three..., four... five" then she stood up again and started walking. "If I wait even ten seconds I won't make it..." She mumbled to herself. When she walked, she felt a piercing pain in her sides and knees. Her head was pounding, but she kept walking. She sat down at Taki's door, and rested for a few moments. She knocked, but it was very low. "Taki! Please, open the door!" she yelled but it came out like she was only talking in normal tone. She kept knocking, but it was still low. She rested for about twenty seconds then took a deep breath, "Taki!" She yelled and it finally came out as a yell. "Open the door! Please! It's Miru!" She tried to keep yelling, and did almost.
He opened the door, "Yes?" then looked down at Miru. He gasped, then picked her up. "Miru! What happened?" he asked while putting her down on the couch.
"...Shin is what happened..." She looked around a bit, she was sitting up. "Can you get me a glass of water?"
"Of course!" he walked into the kitchen and came back with glass of water.
"Thanks..." she gulped it down then smiled almost. "Thanks very much!" Taki sat down next to her. "Shin...He said he was there to kill my mom"
"And what did you do?" Taki looked at Miru suspiciously.
"What else!? I fought back!" She said, clenching a fist. "But, I kinda lost... a lot... He hit me in the back of my head... and I kinda fell... and then I had a plan to spray chemicals in his face by using brother's compact to see what was behind me and grab a good spray thing, but he kinda knew it. My sunglasses where with the compact and all, but he kicked me a couple of times and my sunglasses shattered, the pieces went in my arm. And then I got kinda mad, and wouldn't get down like he wanted me, so I got the you know what beaten out of me..." She picked at her arm. Taki blinked a few times.
"And you're still alive?" He smiled.
"Of course I'm still alive! You think I'd die that easy!?" She smirked, then looked at Taki with a serious look. "Can I have a wet towel, more water, and some Tylenol?"
"Okay!" he got up and grabbed her glass then walked to the kitchen.
"Thanks!" Miru said, then sighed. Taki came back with what she wanted. He handed her the glass and tylenol first. She took the limit of tylenol then gulped down the rest of the water. With the towel, she washed the blood off of her face, neck, and arms.
"I'm going to call up the police, now...Alright?" He got up, looking at Miru. She nodded. He walked out the room. Miru looked around the room, then reality hit her.
"Taki... What happened?... This is a dream right?" She laid down. "I'll wake up, and see that everythings okay, right?" Her eyes watered up.
"Miru, This isn't a Dream... You won't wake up..." he told her.
