• As I turned away from Kana-chan's coffin, I went back to my place beside my mom. My older brother Keigo had gone to get us some coffee, feeling bad for having seen me this way. My eyes were already red and puffy from making them run completely dry. As the men closed the coffin and placed my best friend in the ground, I had to look away. Then Kana-chan's dad stepped towards the hole she was in and frowned at it. "I always knew you would dissapoint me," he said. I swear that if Kanata's mom hadn't been bawling her eyes out already, I would have walked up to that man and made sure HIS funeral would be very soon. " I have no business here with this child. Yuki, as you seemed to be close with this incompetent girl, you may throw in the first bit of dirt," he said. I glared at him with all the hate I had ever had, and sensing the FACT that I could do some serious damage to his HEAD, he stepped away from her grave. I walked forward, stopping to grab a handful of dirt from the pile, then gently scattered it over the face of Kana's coffin. I shot another hate filled glance at her father before turning and walking away from the whole crowd, the whole funeral, and what seemed to be the whole world. I settled for a tire swing on a tree near a child's grave. I slowly pushed myself back and forth, my mind racing as I remembered what exactly had happened to her. The sun was shining brightly on our backs as we layed on the sandy beach. Her bikini was too loose, and she was having me retie it for her. Her blond hair had been braided and red ribbons had been laced through it. " Yuki-chan? Do you believe that there is something else out there besides us? My family was raised believing in God and angels, but do you believe that?" she asked me. " Well, I definitely believe that there is something out there that made us, but I don't think he has a single name. Some people call him God, others call him Zeus! But hes definitely a man with many names." I told her. She then turned me and smiled her blue eyes glittered in the sun. Then it happened. A loud crack rang through the air, and Kana instantly lost her smile. She looked down at her chest to see a pin point hole trickling large amounts of blood slowly starting to pool around her crossed legs. I then watched in horror as her pupils faded to a dull gray and her eyes turned to stare at the sky. She fell to the sandy ground and a look of shock managed to stay in place on her pale white face. I turned as soon as it really sunk in that she had been shot. And I settled my eyes on the man who was holding the pistol. He was only five feet away from us. "Dang, Yuki. if only you hadn't ducked just before I shot. Oh well. Sorry about your little friend there, but it's really your fault I missed you. We'll meet again very soon, and this time I won't miss." the man said. I stared in complete fear as I realized that He wanted to kill ME, not Kana. My mind filled with rage, though, when I remembered he HAD killed Kana. "Ok, who the hell are you and who sent you and why?!" I yelled, slowly rising to my feet. The man just bellowed with laughter. "SENT me? No, no Yuki. Me, myself, and I want you dead. My name is Ryuu. And as for why? Well, I'm sure you wouldn't understand what I would be saying, as you were much too young to remember." he answered. "But-" I retorted, only to have him raise his hand and resume his speech," And look at you. You're trying to be brave, but your shaky knees are just proof that you have no idea what you're doing. Farewell, my beautiful youn flower, we shall soon be reunited." And with that, he turned in the other direction and calmly walked away. He pulled down the hood he had been wearing, and I noticed that he was wearing a circlet of gold on his head. He turned to look at me one last time, and I saw that he was only a teenager, a teenager with glowing red eyes... similar to my own.
