• The Three Men

I found myself, one day, staring at three men. They all appeared similar, 'til I looked closer.

evil The first man appeared to be crazed and angry. He was wearing a strait jacket with all the restraint straps snapped. His blood shot eyes looked as though he hadn't blinked nor slept in years. With bared teeth, he said, “ Look at me, for I have been over run by my own emotions. Do the same and you shall end up like me.”

crying The second man appeared sad and mournful. He was wrapped in an old blanket, which was stained with blood, tears, and dirt. His eyes were red and swollen from constant weeping. With tears in his eyes, he said, “Look at me, for I have lived a life of grief, sorrow, and regret. Do the same and you shall end up like me.”

biggrin The last man appeared happy and joyous. He was well dressed, in a fine gray suit, expensive black tie, and holding a gold and silver walking stick. His eyes were sparkling, full of life and happiness. With a happy grin on his face, he said, “Look at me, for I have lived a honest and prosperous life to is fullest. Do the same and you shall end up like me.”

“But which path should I take?”, I asked.

They all stared at me and said, “That is for you to decide.”. Before I could ask them another question, they disappeared and I realized something. The entire time ... I've been looking in a mirror.
