• Hello there. I was listening to this very creepy song and it gave me an inspiration for this story. I’m kind of putting together things I’ve heard from different scary stories so it may seem similar but at the same time different. So without further ado, I give you, Death Walks at Midnight.

The night was calm and clear as the stars twinkled throughout the sky and the full moon shined brightly. It was almost a little too calm. As a cool breeze rushes by it carries along a certain smell. It is a smell many people worry about and what very few enjoy. It was the smell of blood.

Dong, dong, the bell chimes. As the bell slowly swings back and forth twelve times, all else is silent. For now, it is midnight. In the distance you hear a little tune. The song seems to have an eerie presence to it. As we go through the dark woods towards a clearing, you see a young girl off in the distance. She seems to be happily walking down a path as she holds something. Upon closer inspection she is holding a music box. With a little ballerina twirling around and around to the song and a small mirror that has something red on it.

But then, she turns her head and smiles at you. But after that all you see is the splatter of blood, your blood, and then darkness. To the little girl you just fade away as if you were never there. The young girl just keeps smiling as she walks down the path. Though there is something different about the path. It was red. The horrifying color of blood.

She is wearing a little white dress, but it is stained with red. She continues on the red path playing her frightening song. There are white rose bushes along the side of the path. But as she passes them, each rose gets stained with blood and as she walks away they turn black and fade to dust.

As she walks towards the end of the path there are piles of drained bodies on the ground each stained with red blood. She looks at them all with an innocent smirk on her face. As her song of death ends, she says, “Shall we go now?” A tall figure with blond hair, a large black cloak and a mask covering his eyes steps out and answers, “Yes, Maria.”

But as the name is said one body on the ground that is miraculously still alive says, “Maria? That’s the name of the young, little princess who used to live at the castle. But…they said she was found one day murdered in the white rose bush garden and her blood covered the roses! How are you still alive?!”

The only answer he gets is a small, creepy laugh from the young girl and the sword shoved through his heart by the dark figured one. As the two start to leave Maria looks around and says with a smirk, “Oops, I may have to clean up this mess.” As the bell chimes once more, dark clouds cover the moon and the two walk away leaving the mess in the dark.

Well I hope you guys liked it! Quite creepy if I do say so myself. And remember the blood shed never ends as long there is darkness...
