• Just today I’ll make an exception

    A HiyonoxAyumu fanfic.

A/N: I got this idea after the Spiral episode where the BladeChildren and Ayumu hear about the cursed fate. Here’s how I, being a fluff lover, would have liked it to go when Hiyono was there with Ayumu. I do not own Spiral-just my fluff idea do I own. Please comment and rate! (Yes, people, it’s true. Seeing comments makes my day.) By the way the song “Honey” by KARA inspired me. wink

    Enjoy!

“You know, Ayumu, you should really pick up your phone,” Hiyono turned the kitchen sink water off and drank from her glass. She placed the glass down with a quiet ‘clank’ and watched him as he stared out the window, her face full of worry.

Ayumu just sat with his hand under his chin and said nothing, his mind and gaze somewhere else. Hiyono traced a circle with her forefinger nail on the countertop as a sad smile came across her features,” You can talk to me you know. It’s not like I wouldn’t understand.”

    He didn’t look at her.

“Well,” Hiyono perked up, trying to lighten the mood,” How about I make dinner? You must be hungry!”

He still didn’t turn around, but he shifted so that now he was leaning against the back of the chair. He crossed his arms and became stoned-face.

“It’s about the BladeChilren isn’t it?” she spoke softly and he tensed slightly.

She crossed the kitchen and stood behind him, her hands clasped together.

“Talk to me, Ayumu, please.” I’m so worried about you.

For awhile no one spoke. The sound of the clock ticking was all that could be heard, its sound stabbing each time at her heart.

    Why…? Didn’t he trust her?

Hiyono couldn’t stand the silence any longer nor could she stand her feelings anymore. Even though she was right here why did she feel so far away? Could she ever reach his heart?

Hiyono just watched him quietly as the sun began to set with its rich colors filling the room. She felt she would always be right beside him, not behind him in his shadow. Her heart was brimming with unseen tears as she stayed silent. She knew being in love with him would be hard, be she never thought it would be this hard. Can’t he open up to her just a little bit?

Maybe she…should just give up. That would be easiest. If he wasn’t willing to meet her halfway why should she?

    But that was the problem.

She was willing to go the ends of the Earth for him so why worry about compromising on meeting halfway?

Silently she approached him and wrapped her arms around his neck and rested her head on the hollow of his neck, her eyes closed.

She was surprised that he didn’t push her away or yell at her. Hiyono tensed slightly, not sure if this was the calm before the storm. He didn’t react any way so she relaxed a little.

“You know, I thought you’ll say something like, ‘Leave me alone, you’re annoying me,’ or ‘Go away, Hiyono,” she laughed, her relief sighing through her whole body and she felt as light as air.

Ayumu moved his hand to gently grab her wrist and gave it a light squeeze making Hiyono jump slightly at the sudden contact. She felt flustered at his unusual move and wasn’t sure what to make of it, but, whatever the case, he didn’t let go.

In his calm, cool voice Ayumu spoke, “Just today I’ll make an exception, Hiyono.”

Hiyono hugged him tighter, her love and heart flying through the clouds,” I’m glad you’re finally making exceptions in your life, Ayumu.” Yep, you’re finally letting others in.

    “…Whatever.”

And the two stayed like that for awhile as the fading sunset filled their hearts with warmth and understanding.
    heart heart heart
    (5 minutes later...)

“Whoa, Ayumu you lady killer!” Mondoka walked in on the scene of Hiyono hugging Ayumu from behind,” Hahaha, you definitely take after your brother!”

“Dammit, Mondoka! You went drinking again didn’t you?!” Ayumu stood up in an angry fury and stomped toward her.

“What are you talking about? I’m totally sober!” Mondoka hit the countertop corner with her side as she stumbled to get a glass of water.

As the two began to argue more, Hiyono simply sighed and smiled, “Well, I guess some things will never be an exception in his life.”

A/N: I hoped you liked it! I know the ending went from fluff to silly, but honestly with this show aren’t just these random moments funny? (I mean, this pairing can never have it easy right? -_-'' but, hey that’s where I come in- to make fluff! ^-^)
