• There once lived a kitten. A cute orange tabby she was with big hazel colored eyes and a fighting spirit. She was a homeless kitten who made her home out of cardboard and tree leaves. Each time the rains came her home was destroyed and she would have to rebuild or relocate. People from all over tried to give her a home but she would refuse and run away scared of them.
One day a man came with a bowl of food and a small blue ribbon. He offered the food and said. “Here little kitten. I’ll promise to give you a warm home to live and a lap to rest your head on.” The kitten seeing how nice he was agreed and went home with the man. She looked at herself in the mirror and smiled as she wore the blue ribbon proudly. She pranced around her new home thanking the man and purring. She was happy.
Months went by and slowly the kitten noticed that more and more other kittens appeared. Each with a different coat’s and ribbons. She noticed them eating out of her food bowl sleeping in her basket but, most of all sitting in his lap. The kitten watched as she was slowly being pushed out and away from the man she loved till one day as he was petting a black kitten she went up to him and said. “I’m sorry sir…but I am no longer welcome here it seems…this is no longer my home…I must leave.” And she did. She walked out of the house into the pouring rain. She shivered at the cold winds and made her way back to an alley. She took shelter inside an old overturned trashcan and looked at herself in the puddle of water. This frightened her. As she looked she found that she was no longer a kitten but a full-grown cat. “How could anyone love a old thing like me?” she cried tearing the ribbon from her neck and throwing it out into the rain. She cried and couldn’t do anything. She couldn’t eat cause she forgot how to hunt. She couldn’t find a home cause she forgot how to build one. She walked the streets her coat not so pretty anymore and people yelled at her. In the end she crawled her way into an abandoned building and no one saw her ever again.
