"What are you doing this weekend?" Sam asked me in the locker room.
"I'm not sure. I might go to my dad's." I answered.
"Really? She's going to let you?" Sam seemed shocked.
"I hope so. She said she'll think about it when I asked her."
    "Oh."
    "Yup."
"Good game, Tally." Said Jeff as he slapped me on the back. "I can't believe you you actually got me out."
    "Well I did."
"Next time we need to be on the same team. We would so crush the other team."
    "Probably."
"'Kay. Well catch you later." Jeff called as he went to catch up his friends.
"Holy cow! Jeff actually talked to you! A ninth grader!" Sam exclaimed.
"He's talked to me before!" I said a little offended.
"Yeah, but he said 'catch you later'" squealed Sam.
"That's just a saying when you know you'll be seeing the person later but won't talk to them."
"Uh-huh. Sure it is." Sam said unconvinced.
I was actually surprised that Jeff talked to me, too. Senior boys don't talk to freshman girls. I wonder what he meant when he said "Catch you later"? Did he really want to see me later or was he just trying to be nice?
"Earth to Tally!" Sam said as she poked me.
    "Yeah? What?"
"I said we are going to be late if you keep walking as slow as a snail!" Sam exclaimed as she grabbed my hand to make me go faster.
