• He did it. He most certainly did it. If this was his form of payback for her kidnapping his brother and making him believe that he was dead, well then he did it. Sure she kidnapped the heir the throne, made it look he was dead and blame his death on another prince. Then she almost got said falsely blamed prince and two other royals killed, and stop the whole peace treaty from being fulfilled. As bad as it sounded, and it was bad, she did it all to keep a secret. A secret that she held dear to herself, a secret she couldn't bare to let go or everything that she worked for, hoped for, needed more than anything in the world would be destroyed in the blink of an eye. She could not let that happen. So she took the job and though she was supposed to kill the heir she didn't because he was a vital key to the ending of the war that had plagued the world for so long. She let him go so he could fulfill the promise that he made to himself to end the war. She let him go because she, too, was sick of the war, she, too, was sick of the fighting and the tyranny, and the murder. Everything that the war was doing to her people and the people of the other kingdoms was sickening, she was tired of it, and that is why she didn't kill his brother when she had the chance.

In the end her secret didn't matter, she had a bad reputation and she knew that if she tried to settle down she would be hunted and if she was ever found she would be hanged. Eventually she summoned up the courage to ask the king of her country to become one of his knights he was surprised at her actions, but granted her wish knowing that she would remain loyal to him and his family and the kingdom that he strived so hard to create.

She tried her best to stay away from the middle prince, she tried her best to be cold towards him and unfeeling, but all to no avail. She stopped running eventually it took time for her to finally stop, but she stopped running from him knowing what was going to happen with him. She hated herself for giving up so easily, she hated knowing that he was engaged and she was with him anyway it made her sick inside, but she loved him and it broke her everyday that she was with him. All the days that she was with him when he held her and said that he loved her and all the promises that he made to her of a future of them together hurt her, it hurt her then and it hurt her now. However, she was stronger than that and she took that pain as it came as she took all the other pain that was inflicted to her in her lifetime and she stood there and watched the ceremony before her with no tears staining her white cheeks.

After the two had been wed, they stepped from the altar and they sang and they danced and they had fun, but all the while, he was hurting inside. He couldn't show it, of course, not in front his wife he couldn't show it to his subjects or to his parents watching the ceremony. He didn't want to marry the woman that now sat beside him looking at him with those loving eyes, but he didn't have a choice. He had a duty to his kingdom and his people now that his older brother had died and his sisters had run away with other men. He couldn't leave his dying father to rule the kingdom in his weak state. He knew that if he did the warring kingdom would spare no time in attacking and demolishing his country and that is why he married the princess from that kingdom and took the role as king. He hated it because the woman that he married wasn't woman that he loved. He wondered everyday what it would have been like had he not wanted to know the woman's reasons for becoming a knight in the first place. After all the years that she spent making a name for herself and she gave it all up just so that she could settle down one day without having to be hunted for the rest of her life.

He wouldn't have noticed her if it weren't for her icy blue eyes staring straight at him from across the crowds, she was wearing a white cloak and cloth on her face that blended in with the snow covered ground and trees. The wedding was outside because his wife had wanted it to be outside no matter the weather and in addition, the snow just made the wedding better. He stared back at those icy blue eyes that he always found himself thinking about, that he always dreamed were staring at him with the same love that he held for her in them. For a while, they were as they are now, but he knows that he can never have her with him again. He knows that he can never love her again, that he will never love her again even if he always will.

She smiled at him from underneath her cloth then quite suddenly turned around and left the ceremony, and the joyous people, and the peace that was sweeping the kingdoms, and the man that she loved with all her heart. She couldn't love him anymore she knew that and she would never love him again even if she always would. She got the peace and the life that she worked so hard for and she was going to live it the way she imagined she would even if her heart ached because of it.
