• -The City of Segesta (Greek Territory)-

tab Doros walked back and fourth on the great stone wall. He was wearing full armor now, with the exception of a helm. He never cared for helmets, thinking them too much a hassle. His eyes now glared down now at the legions of soldiers approaching the city. They wore bright green armor, which glistened in the light. The stood outside the great stone walls of the city now, all standing in tight formations. Their footmen carried great square shields, which were green as well, and their archers huddled together.
tab Doros snickered and looked at one of his archers and whispered, "So these are the Romans, eh?" The archer looked nervous and nodded. Looking back at them, Doros noticed a rider approaching the edge of the wall. He gave one of those 'Surrender now and everyone will be spared' speeches in scratchy Greek. Doros grinned at him. "Surrender?" he asked the rider, who nodded. Doros looked at his men, who in turn began hooting and hollaring. "Come take us!" he yelled at the Roman rider, and spit over the edge of the wall on his head.
tab The rider's face became red in obvious anger. He turned his horse around and began to ride back to the Roman camp. Doros raised his hand, and his archers prepared their bows. Giving the signal, the archers let a volly of arrows bombard the messenger, who slumped to the ground to be greeted by Hades himself. This act enraged the Romans, and attack horns were sounded.

tab Aloeus heard the horn before he saw the city. Concerned, he erged his horse to ride faster. The mercenaries he hired rode faster as well. He arrived at Segesta to notice the northern wall was under attack. Brightly armored soldiers carried ladders toward the towering walls, many others marched in unison in tight formation.
tab Having not cut off the southern part of the wall, Aloeus entered the city with his men. His reinforcements should turn the tide of battle. Marching up to the city square he noticed Captain Altas, one of the Hoplite commanders and royal guard to Doros. They greeted each other in Greek, and Aloeus asked him, "Where is the governor?" It was weird calling the battle-hungry Doros governor, since the Spartan prefered to fight than rule. Altas said nothing but gestured for Aloeus. Leaving some men behind, he followed the captain to the northern wall.
