• REACHING TIME
    By: Myleena
    Part 1
Narrator: some questions and things you say in your life are sometime about how you are going to spend your time, plan it, and or even want to go back in time to change what you did. But you can only do 2 of those. That’s plan and spend time… But not go back in time… No one could go back in time… You could only fix what you did wrong later on. But what if someone could go back in time? Who knows what good or bad things that could bring.
(Jake enters the living room and sees his mom eating chocolate cake and drinking)
Jake: You should stop that… You’ll end up doing something wrong… and where is the dog?
(Mrs. Jones drops a piece of cake and picks it up)
Mrs. Jones: You ain’t got no RIGHT telling me what to do!
(She puts the piece of cake in her mouth)
Mrs. Jones: (spits out everything) IS THIS YOUR DOG’S FUDGE?!
    OR SHOULD I SAY CRAP?!
    (Jake giggles)
Jake: N-no ma’am. I don’t think so… But I told you to watch what you are were doing.
(Mrs. Jones as drunk as she is, gets up, stumbles over the coffee table and hits Jake in the face)
Jake: What is wrong with you?!
Mrs. Jones: There is nothing wrong with me! YOU are my problem! So just get the hell away from here!
(Jake walks away with a bleeding lip. Leaving his mother alone not knowing what to do)
    Part 2
Narrator: The next morning Jake went downstairs. He found his mother, still, lying on the sofa with the TV still on and everything still placed on the same spot. Jake went near his mother to see what was going on. He saw his mother had thrown-up. He knew that was normal (but not really). Then he went to wake her up.
    Jake: Hey mom! Wakie wakie!
    Mrs. Jones: (no response)
Jake: MOM! (Pushes her) wake up!
    Mrs. Jones: (no response)
Jake: Come on mom YOU ARE SCARING ME!!! WAKE UP!!!
LUCY!!! CALL 911!!! NOW!!! MOM GOT DRUNK AGAIN!!!
    Part 3
Narrator: Lucy, who is Jake’s little sister, called 911. Lucy didn’t know what was going on so she only passed the phone to Jake. 2 weeks later they found themselves in a funeral. Their mother had died. She became an alcoholic after her husband moved out and asked for a divorce. Jake knew this but didn’t do anything to help because he knew he would get hurt. He needed help too. Lucy, who is only 6 years old didn’t understand death. She only knew that going to a grave was scary. But nothing else…
    (Jake looks down at Lucy)
Lucy: Why is this so scary, Jake?
Jake: Lucy … there is nothing to be afraid of, I’m here for you. Don’t worry.
    Lucy: ok…
    (Two men come in)
Man 1: isn’t it really sad how we lose people these days?
    Man 2: yes indeed…
(Lucy looks over at the two men)
Jake: come on Lucy let’s call dad…
    Man 1: you shouldn’t
Jake: first of all who are you and second of all why?
Man 1: I am john. I am here to help you get a home.
Jake: I already have a home and it’s with my dad.
Man 2: no… your dad doesn’t want you in his house. Truth is he’s got other children and his wife cannot take any more kids.
(Jake, frustrated, sits down and thinks)
Lucy: daddy found new kids to replace us?
Jake: no way Lucy and john who’s that other guy?
    Man 2: I am Carlos.
John: we have to go now … let’s go Lucy and Jake.
    Part 4
Narrator: after 3 months Jake gets put into a home and gets used to it. But meanwhile, he studied at school a lot and became an honor student. Jake one time wondered why his mom decided to drink. So he wrote every day in his journal things he had figured out about his mom. But one day he wondered what would happen if he changed what happened. So he tried to do research on that. There was no way… then days passed… he got invited to a party for the night at Michael’s house.
    (Jake gets ready to go)
    Jake: I’m going now!
    Lucy: take care big bro!
(Jake gets in the car and leaves with his friends)
Michael: so Jake how have you been?
All friends: yea! How have you been?
    Jake: good… good… good…
Michael: Oh and I saved this up for you bro.
    (Shows bottle of alcohol)
    Part 5
Narrator: Jake was paralyzed. He couldn’t believe his friends had actually offered him to drink!
    (Refuses)
    Jake: nah… I shouldn’t… I have two different personalities when I drink…
Friends: (laugh) he’s being a wimp now. I thought he could do anything!
Narrator: there goes the peer pressure…
    Jake: OK! OK! (Jake laughs)
Narrator: and peer pressure WINS! So then Jake gets drunk. And so they get to the party.
    (All of them are drinking)
Jake: hey you guys! You know that bus that passed by yesterday?
    Friend: yea…so…
Jake: what was it called again?
    Friend: a Twinkie???
    Jake: Ooooh what flavor?!
    (Everybody started laughing)
    Part 6
Narrator: all of a sudden Jake felt a chill…then everything went dark and so then a small light becoming bigger. That small light became multi-colored, then there the colors fixed. It looked like Jake’s old house where 3 months ago Jake’s and Lucy’s mom (Mrs. Jones) had died. Jake sat there for a while looking at the house.
    (Jake goes into the house)
    Mrs. Jones: welcome back Jake!
    (Jake turns really really pale)
    Jake: Y-y-you are alive?!
Mrs. Jones: ofcourse!!! What has gotten into you?!
You need to get help boy!
(Jake looked at his wrist looking for the clock he had at the party… then remembered)
Jake: what day is it today mom?
Mrs. Jones: October 15th, why you ask?

    Part 7
Narrator: I bet you don’t remember that Jake tried to study time travel… but didn’t find anything. But he just hit the JACK-POT! He found how to travel back in time! Drinking!
(Jake pretends to be from that time)
Mrs. Jones: You look pale sweetie, come inside.
    Jake: s-sure
Narrator: everything happened all over again. But just right at the moment that his mother had bust his lip, he decided to change everything. He said in his head “NO MORE DRINKING FOR ME NOR MY MOM”. But then he said I can’t change the flow of time and life.
Then an imagine popped up in front of Jake.
It was him lying under the snow (his friends had taken him outside).
A black looking thing appeared beside him…
Black thing: you have accomplished being true to your-self. You are indeed right… time cannot be touched… but it can be looked at while it passes… and you made a promise to your-self and your mother that you shall never drink like that because that is wrong.
But that promise can never be successful because you are there under the snow not here and you soon will be in what you people call heaven. You are paying the consequences for following your mothers steps...
Jake drops to the ground and cries while he disappears to heaven looking at him self… what a shame… what a shame…
