• I look away into your eyes
And I hear your whispering voice
When I gaze out onto the water
That was once my inner sanctuary.
    I recall those times that were taken for granted;
    Warm summers, chilly winters,
    Gentle springs and playful autumns
We were together, here, in my inner sanctuary.
Then I recall that one last moment
That I saw your gentle face.
    You were smiling, and
I believed that you would come back.
It was also here that you
Broke my heart into a million pieces.
You said you were never coming back
To me, in my inner sanctuary.
I left to serach for you,
But I saw what I feared.
You had that ring upon your hand
    Staring so passionately at another.
    I left that world behind.
    I'm not me anymore.
    You'll never find me again,
    Never at my inner sanctuary.
    Now when I come here,
All I see is a pool,
    Long gone is the magic
    That you had once given.
    The pain is still there
    But you canot heal it.
You and I shall never meet again,
Here, anywhere, or at that place, I once called my inner sanctuary.
