I’D RATHER BE
by Just_Fn_Crazy
I would rather be
A wave following
Its fellows to the shore
Than a leaf aloft adrift
To where alas it lands
Once more
A kite, fit to be tied,
To a child’s fertile mind
Or a gray-haired dandelion
Blown about in the wind
But anchored to the earth
Tethered unto its lasts.
Not a snowflake that flees,
A ground a waiting friends,
Nor a lone feather
In down eyed breezes
Still wondering where
When at last it ceases
Afoot a foreign surface
Than the fullest mosquito
To the darkness about
A flood victims’ boat
Or abed some drier
But higher place
Amen.

- Good half a poem. Poem's like these need to have a stanza or two where you openly express your point. Sort of like a thesis statement in an essay. You need a turn. Still, It's a good start.
