• THE RIGHT WAY
    by UC Poika

Like a river in the woodland
    Where the wild waters flow
Or the whistle of a loon tune
Where the right men never go,
It’s a long way to the trail,
It’s a long way to the trail,
And it’s a long ways too to the trail.

Like a maiden in a buckskin
    Where the fresher berries grow
Or the war whoop a warrior
Or the cawing of a crow,
It’s a long way to the trail,
It’s a long way to the trail,
And it’s a long ways too to the trail.

Or the pickup through the treetops
Where the hunter longs to be
Or the coming out of nowhere
To the somewhere more like me
It’s a long way to the trail,
It’s a long way to the trail,
And it’s a long ways too to the trail.

    But is it really—ee
    The wrong way to be?
