And these midnight fantasies dance.
Or are they nightmares? haunting my head.
I am so tired.
I cannot sleep.
On my knees I beg for
Sleep,
From that blissful, evasive Suductress:
Sleep
She hides behind black curtains
Braiding pearls into her hair
Diamonds sparkling in her eyes.
The curtains twitch...and
Then they part.
Bejeweled hands offer me Rest:
A lolling, sleepy puppy
Eyes half-closed
Dozing on his side.
But I reach for Escape:
A sparkling set of wings
Feathers glistening like the moon
Promising Peace Of Mind
At Last
Yet the hands recoil,
Folding in upon themselves,
Becoming a Dove before my
Sleepless eyes,
And taking off into the night.
Alone in the Dark.
Always in the Dark.
Not angry. Not sad.
Not afraid. Not bad.
Just tired.
I am so tired.
I cannot sleep.

- One of very very few good poems I have read on this site. There are only a couple problems with grammar and spelling and other than that there's not really anything bad about it. Nice job ^-^
