The feathered creature dances in the air,
Above my head does it stare.
In the sunlight, do I bask,
And surprisingly, the creature does so without its mask.
For as long as I can recall did this wild thing follow,
For as I grew, it forever watched over me, in my success, wallow.
Whenever I would invite it in, however,
The death-colored creature would disappear, oh so clever.
Even as my strength and agility would grow,
I thought, 'How shall I capture this elusive Crow?'
For when the thing would allow my touch,
Never once, its feathers, would I clutch.
Then as winter struck, the air so dry,
I awoke to find myself in a cry.
My window remained undisturbed,
Of the Crow, my Crow, that was always unperturbed.
To this day, I sight no familiar eyes of coal,
My heart is in pain without being whole.
Even so, I see the smallest of hopes impending,
With a special gal in black, of much time I am spending.
The one I love, my love, is enigmatic,
She reminds me of a love of which I had been a fanatic.
Differing, yet also similar, are these two personalities,
Otherworldly in nature and immortality.
My dear Crow, with whom now will you delight?
Or could it be that you never took flight...

Description:
Something I wrote about a month ago. One part of the poem is true, but I'll let you figure out which part that is. To me, it'll always be symbolic.

To me, this poem could be symbolic of all the different varieties of love, and I really like it.
I love the symbolism you used, and it really flows!
This poem is literarily beautiful smile - Report As Spam
