Caught in an eternal masquerade,
Wanting but unable to stop.
My true face has begun to fade
Since this façade doesn’t seem to drop.
This fake mask I’ve created
Has been etched into my being.
I’m not myself anymore
And I feel as if I’ve lost everything.
I’m tired of this meaningless pretence
I simply want it to end.
But my real identity has been erased
And is in a state, no one can mend.
I wonder if this masquerade will continue
Till my very last breath.
But only time will tell the answer
And until then, I’ll silently await death.
