The long forgotten lore of my life
When I feel like it I'll update with my thoughts, views, nonsensical ramblings or events. Just another look into my chaotic enough life. I never know what's going to happen.
Planting their soul on Higher Ground
Wednesday, May 16:

So, today was the last pep assembly for all the students of Colerain. Of course, tradition is I go and attend every year. It's always a Fine Arts assembly, so it features our Jazz Band, Orchestra, and Show Cards.

My friend, Allie, is in the Show Card band along with Rae. I promised Allie I'd come and watch. There's always the option that some people take, and that's the check out what's going on in the cafeteria during the assembly. I sat in the bleachers, right in a great spot that I could view a little behind the set up "stage", easily viewing Allie and Rae.

I've got to say, the Show Cards' performance was beyond expectations. I have heard from Allie the rave reviews they do, her letting me hear bits and pieces of the songs. She apparently had several solos. Grinning ear from ear, I couldn't help but feel proud of my friend. Here was a girl who wasn't sure she wanted to play in the Show Cards band, and now...

The theme this year could be summed up as "inspirational, getting to believe in hope during the bleakest points". They did at least five songs. The one song, LORD I wish I knew the name! I was crying. Yeah, I know. Pretty wimpy, a senior in High school sobbing at a song in public. Yeah RIGHT! That song was beautiful! Moving, they performed it with such an angelic grace. The lyrics touched me deep in the depths of my heart. Funny and ironic, Allie saw me crying in the bleachers.

They summed up with a country inspirational song havin' "a string of that bad ol' luck!" but, Lordy, they pulled it off! Couldn't stop laughing.

Allie caught up with me after the show. I knew I couldn't get to her right away, but she met me at my locker. I started to break down and cry again, complimenting her and saying how beautiful the show was. It was true- every bit of it.

On another note, everything with Prom is getting squared away. Looks like all the tickets and plans have been organized. I can't wait!

heart Peace out, ya'll! heart
