so after being scolded again by my father, like right after I posted my last entry, about me not knowing exactly where I was supposed to be going and how much money me and my date would have. he finally said that all these damn assumptions about things is not going to get me anywhere in life. unless I start asking questions and know what I'm doing, I shouldn't assume anything. but anyhow enough of that. I got my s**t together but bout time my father was ready to take me to get my tux and drop my little sister off for practice, we were already running late. I got my tux, tried it on, took it, had to return before 4 pm the next day, went home, put it on, packed my stuff for afterwards, waited for my dad to come at 6 to drop me off at keiko's place so we can be dropped off by her grandfather to Raynes place. 6 came alone, I was practicing dancing with my mom, my step mother calls, she wants to see me, my father comes, it's 6:15, my mom tells him my step mom is coming, I practice with my little sister and take pictures, she arrives at 6:35 after 5 mins of getting lost. Take more pictures, father tells mother about car accident, mother gets depressed, goes on about god, doesn't leave until 6:50. get to keiko's place, she acts all demanding like, parents except for my mom goes into her apartment, meet her aunts and stuff, takes more pictures, talk and discuss plans, leave with keiko's grandfather at 7:10. now understand that prom starts at 7 and around the time we make it to rayne and his date, it's like 7:28. so I'm like upset because I really caused rayne to be late on his prom night but I try to be all goofy about it and well... I end up getting cursed out by rayne. we make it there, take more pictures and get recorded, I take pictures and compliment rayne and nnebi on their outfits and looks, more or less just rayne, loved those sunglasses but anyways, after driving off with him and then going back to get his shoes and his axe, the four of us were on our way to prom. that when I begin to get really excited.
This is when we arrive to the fairmont hotel and all get out of the car. it was so great because all of us just look great especially keiko. I mean she was so beautiful. the first people we met up with was Marice, Octavia and Marvin, Greesy(dunno her real name but thats what Tan calls her). they were in front of us in one car. it was nice seeing them but they looked so plain. the interesting guest came next. in the nest car it was Thelma, her date and Tiffany, Jin. Jin! in black and orchid with a orchid top hat. That man was a pimp. that made my day. it was just so weird, but that wasn't even the begining. I found it funny how the way Tiffany looked like a queen from england and Thelma looked like a princess from a fairy tale. we were still outside and all in the loby. it wasn't until we actually went past the loby where we found the rest of the group. there was Lord Tan in the rawest and best prom outfit in the whole senior class. this man was a straight up pimp, topping Jin. White Tux... really long tux, suspenders. light blue button up. white tie. white top hat with white and small turquise feathers, gold necklace, gold pocket watch and white dress shoes. Jarell also rocked the white and lightblue but his was just a white tux with a lighblue vest and tie. and then there was his date brittne with the lightblue dress looking really nice. now after describing so many others outfits I bet you all are wondering what in the hell the first four were wearing. Starting off, I was wearing a black tux, navyblue vest and tie, white button up. Keiko was in a nice black dress with a white ribbon on the back and white along the bottom of her dress. it fitted her just right and didn't drag. Rayne was also a pimp with his black striped tux/ no buttons, white vest and white button up, along with the nice brown shades. his date nnebi was wearing a nice brown dress that didn't really come out at the bottom and seemed like a regular one peice. all in all she looked just fine. but enough about the looks lets talk about prom.
we all enter the hotel together. first we were goof'n off in the elevator not know which floor to get off on. after figuring out it was time to meet more people and turn in our prom tickets. once we were all done talking to teachers and friends, we heard the annoucment about there only being an hour left before the food will be put up. so of course our first reaction was to hit up all the stands and eat as much as we can. the food was nice but I should've listened when they told me specifically not to pig out. but of course I didn't listen and did it anyways. So after the pigging out and drinking 3 cups odf sprite. I went to talk with more people right along with dragging Keiko along with me. I knew she felt a little uncomfortable at first but there was so many people that were actually happy to see her that made the modd a lot better. it's kinda odd being a sophmore at a senior prom but hell I thought that was great! music was playing and the lights were dimming some. people started dancing on the dance floor so I suggested to keiko that we should too. now note that I can't dance for the life of me but I refused to not be myself while I was there. this was the first kenwood event that I actually attended to and I was really comfortable being around all the seniors too since I knew or recognized basically all of them. when I started dancing I swear I looked like a damn fool. but at least I wasn't off beat with anything. I was just a bit slow. I don' think I could ever move my body all wild and smooth like everyone else like tan and rayne but I was able to do a little bit of something. Jarrel was just out of there. I swear all he did was the most oddest dances in the god danm world which was so hilarious. I actually let some one juke me for the first time and all though it was cool, I still don't aprrove of it. I'd rather salsa if anything but the odd part about is when you're doing it, it doesn't seem so negitive as one would think. it actually goes with the music that you're juking to. I was suprised I even danced at all but I did start taking a lot of breaks because it seemed as if they didn't want to leave the dance floor. I kinda felt bad about leaving the floor because keiko would be by herself but then Rayne or Tan would come along and dance with her along with darnell and julian who I saw her dance with once.
At around 11 nothing really changed rather than me getting pregnant off of sprite. brittne, jarrel and marvin was ready to leave but marice and rayne was still in line to take their prom pictures with their dates. I told them to hold on a bit longer and kinda thought to myself that we might as well stay the whole time since time is going by so fast and they've been in line for like an hour. so keiko takes my hand and tells me to follow her so we can look for them. we found them in that long a** line but at least they were kinda close to getting their pictures. I got seriously bored trying to wait for them so I ask keiko to explore the hotel with me by starting off with the 37th floor which is the top floor. she refused to do it and kept protesting that we're not going to ruin her chances to go to her senior prom. Tan was around so her dragged her over to the elevator so that we could explore. Joseph and his date decied to come along for the ride as well. our ears almost exploded from going up so high but finally after elevator tourchuer we made it to the top. we looked around and the first thing we found was the presidental suite. we all looked at each other and immediatly thought that it was time to leave but I thought we should keep exploring since we were up there already. Tan agreed and keiko followed. Joseph and his date chickened out on us. after the short uninteresting exploration we decided to go back down except for the fact that I wanted to take the stairs. they both thought I was insane but I just thought of it as fun. When I was on the 28th floor, they were already on the second and off of the elevator. I told them to give me another 10mins and Tan just said "bout time I make it down. I was going to be sweating like crazy and my suit is going to be a wet rag". I just laughed and kept going.
when I finally made it down, Rayne was still in line. Octavia, Marice date, was complaining because an hour and a half of her prom was wasted on that long a** line to take prom pictures. so she wanted to continue daning instead of leaving early. so did keiko. we went back into the ball room and started dancing again. they were playing some slow songs so we started slow dancing for like two songs. she kissed me twice and kept dancing. I was happy that she was comfortable and happy because I was too. they begin to play the electric slide and so thats when every senior wanted to dance except for a small few. after that song they started playing the remix and thats when everyone started getting wild. I was tired and down for the game. my day was done. there was only 2 more songs being played after that one and then it would be time for everyone to leave. I let keiko enjoy that song and after that she was done too. we were all ready to go at that point. I'm not too sure when Rayne came back but he was there for those last two songs. we were all together again and ready to leave but of course I had to be the difficult one and go my own way along with keiko. we took some stairs that took us to the first floor but we couldn't find any that would lead to the 2nd basement floor. so we had to go all the way back and take the elevator. after finding out that people split up into 4 seperate groups and all of us were trying to find each other, I left again to complicate things even more but that didn't really work out because I ended up bumping into Rayne.
After all the none sense we left and were on our way to the kamehachi (japanese resturant) after circling around the hotel like 4 times. when we arrived we all talked and ordered our meals which were all great. most of us killed ourselves from eating too much wasabi with our sushi. after that we left and was given an extra member to out group that was in raynes car. Tan tagged alone as Keiko, Rayne and me all went into the trunk of his car and starting stripping. once all of us were done, we were all in our regular clothes. well me and rayne was in our new outfits. it was 2 sumthing in the morning and both of our dates said they had to go home. we were all supposed to go bowling but I guess it was going to have to be the 3 of us. there was one problem though. Tans date that he abandoned wanted to meet us at navy peir. she said that was the least we could do. so we did and that didn't come to a nice conclusion. she told Tan off and well that was that of that trip rather than Rayne leaving us outside of the car as he drove off twice with out us. so the 5 of us in the car and all tired. we drive Keiko home and then Nnebi who live like of the other side of chicago. from leaving kamehachi at 2ish and then droping keiko off at 3ish then nnebi at 4ish. we ended up arriving at wave land at 4:30 a.m. I think. we met up with marice, octavia, jarrel, brittne, jarrel's neighbor(female), Amy, Win, Theodore, Vawnshika, and Eric. we played one round and watched as the sun rise and left at 5:30ish. we stopped at walgreens for some refreshments, drove Tan home and finally arrived at Rayne place at 6 sumthin, where we slept for 3 hours and then woke back up at 9 since Rayne had to be at work by 10. we left his house and I went home to get some more sleep before waking back up to go return my tux. and that my friends was my long prom adventure. I loved it soo much am I'm very glad that I was able to attend. That was my best night out of my whole entire senior year.
