Lost in Wonderland
I've gone mad, and can't get out...

She could never grasp or understand some of the crew. They would either simply kill one self in hopes of getting somewhere or go by it slowly. She for one, did both at times, but Chapel knew when to hold back and take a break. The nurse would have scolded the girl but found it quite useless at the moment.

Chapel smiled slightly at the yelp from her patient. Warnings. Ah, she knew about those but learned quite quickly that giving them resulted in further whining and it was better to get it done and over with. “So next time you’ll come sooner.” A light tease.

Nodding in understanding towards Zafirah, “Quite, even in space, you always have a need to cleanse yourself…” especially in here. The medical bay appeared spotless but like anything else, underneath lurked unknown. Chapel was about to attend back to her console when the idea struck her.

Call it motherly instinct, the nurse turned and headed towards the back cabinets. She had to be quick or else her patient would run off and never be seen from again. Christine had noted the girl’s discomfort in being here. It was a face a nurse became acquainted with, therefore she was going to change Zafirah’s notion about medical examiners.

“Miss,” She beckoned. Chapel held a small vile with sea-green liquid inside. It was a sleeping bill, much less crude than what McCoy had used on the Captain. “Wait, I have…” her voice trailed off when the doors opened. Chapel blinked at the sight. This slowly faded away when Syx spoke to her.

Christine frowned lightly while approaching the bedside. “What happened?” She questioned. Chapel noticed the appearance of burn marks on the girl’s hand, “Malfunction again on the bridge?”

This type of incident had been happening quite frequently, or at least in the early days of the Enterprise. No one had died from the shocks. Minor burns on the patients, easy to treat. From just the look over she gave with eyes on the girl, she appeared to have fainted just from shock and of course the dose of electrical current.

Grabbing the medical scanner, Chapel started from head to toe. Making sure Vela’s brain didn’t have any damage, “The scanner isn’t picking up any serious damage…She’ll just need…” she paused, nibbling at her bottom lip before going on, “…a simple ice pack on the length of arm to hand…it’ll will work for now..” She’d let it cool down before mending the burns. That wouldn’t take long.

Really…the medicine of today seemed like magic.

Giving a reassuring smile to Syx; Christine left for a moment to gather the cooling agent for Vela. ‘See….you can take care of this…and you didn’t have to wake up him…’ McCoy would have been just thrilled to do this. He’d have slammed the door in front of the messenger’s face if they got him up for something like this. It was child’s play to the doctor, well compared to what he has had to deal with in the past.
Returning to the bedside, Chapel applied the cooling agent onto Vela’s arm. It almost felt like she was frosting a cake. It surely looked like it. “Today is already turning interesting…”
