As the clouds shone silver
the rivers ran black
the thunder of courage
upon a horse's back
-With the shout of her saviour
Rapunzel drew back
She would have to find
A new plan of attack
With a gentle tug,
She felt quite strange
Rapunzel gasped
Were her scissors in range?
The long train of gold
So soft and so long
Fell from the window
The prince was in wrong
Below lay the gaping jaws of a dragon
Sharp flames that reached up to consume him
Rapunzel laughed herself till tears
At last she was free
From the tower years
The pact with the dragon
Cost only one life
And she would escape
The hard life of a wife
She slipped onto the dragon
And into the night
With no thought to her lover
who died with no fight.

- Title: Repunzel- A grim tale
- Artist: Akemi Dumais
-
Description:
I wrote this for an assignment. We had to create a twist to a fairytale. Most were inspired by the Grimm Brothers. ( Spell?)
I ended up doing the poem, thanks to my lazy partner, so I have full copyright of this piece.
