    -Prologue-

This story takes place in an era recorded in no writing, scroll, tablet, or book. As if it was entirely skipped by God himself. The creatures in this world are many of the creatures we think to be myth and legend. Lycans, angels, demons, animal-human hybrids, and of course, vampires. In this world, every human has an isolated gene that gives a one in a million chance at being born a vampire. The tale that is to be spun is about a young vampire, who destroyed his entire village and travels alone. The boy lived in a hidden village of people, all believed to be descended from their God, Azrael Minatori. Their clan is secluded, and few know its location other than its occupants. The clan has a special ability, anyone with Azrael's blood in their veins can use, Kiritae. Kiritae is an ability, based on one's skill, that can allow them to do a number of 'supernatural' things with the use of hand-signs. The Minatori Clan is not a barbaric people though, they have an oligarchy, meaning it is ruled by a few select people. This is the Minatori Council, it is three people who have proved their worth in battle or their Clan duties. The clan lives by a list rules, or creeds, that were said to be written by their God, Azrael Minatori. The young boy believes not in men or gods, but only in ones' own power to overcome and eliminate obstacles. Along the way he will meet with much strife, enlightenment, resistance, self-doubt, and possibly even love. This is the beginning of his story, the beginning of The Minatori Chronicles.

    -Chapter I: Prelude-

"Avenge the fallen," It is one of the sacred creeds laid forth by the Council of the Minatori Clan. It is one of the most honored and the highest regarded of all the creeds. "Sometimes it leads others to darkness," one once said. His body now rots in the ground. Let me ask you, was there vengeance for him? Absolutely not, for when the truth is actually let out, The Council reveals its dark, corrupt, an--

The man's speech was cut short by the sharpened blade of the executioner's large axe. It had lasted too long for Marak's tastes though. Being the head of the Council, as well as the man's prosecutor, he took offense to the man's rather harsh words. As was his duty, he believed it best to get everyone's attention by standing on the executioner's platform. He then silenced the crowd by raising his hand and leaving it there for a few seconds.
"To all of the witnesses of this execution, I would like to inform you all that this man was not killed for speaking out against the Council. No, for he did more than insult us, he was a supporter of Solren, the traitor who broke many of the creeds and and tempted others to do so as well!"
The crowd murmured amongst themselves about this new found information and accepted it blindly, as always.
"Yes my brothers and sisters, he was indeed trying to lead you all to the depths of the Underworld along with him!"
A hooded, robed couple inconspicuously left the crowd and began walking down the cobblestone streets as the crowd listened ignorantly to the rest of Marak's speech.
"It's always the same with them. Whenever he opens his deceiving mouth, they treat it like its a prophecy."
A man's voice resounded, shaking his head and looking to the other hooded figure. A sigh could be heard and the other robed figure merely shook its head and looked to him.
"I know. Nothing can be done though dear, it's just the way things are."
A female voice said, looking back ahead of them and sighing again, turning right and walking toward a average sized home. She then opened the door and let the male in, then walked in herself.

The female figure the shut the door and pulled her hood down, revealing back-length raven black hair and a stunningly beautiful face. She appeared to be in her late twenties and had emerald green eyes, which were filled with kindness and acceptance. She was also obviously a few months into a pregnancy. The male then sighed and pulled down his hood, revealing, split, shoulder length indigo hair and a slim, elongated face. His blue eyes showed nothing but determination and hope.
"They have no right to kill, just with a snap of their fingers!"
He yelled, pounding his hand on the wall and looking away, closing his eyes.
"We were all fond of Lucien before this, but they hear him speak out and he gets sentenced for treason? I'm so sick of this Rin!"
He yelled once more, clenching his fist even tighter as she embraced him, resting her head against his chest.
"It's alright Tristan. There's nothing we can do, we've already tried, remember?"
Rin asked, backing up and smiling sweetly at him, a purple pendant with a gem the size of a fist dangling from her neck. Tristan sighed and put his hand on his forehead.
"I-I know Rin, but it's such an oppressive and grueling place to raise Nakiru, and with another on the way..."
Tristan trailed off, sighing and looking back at his wife.
"It will be fine dear. We'll teach him better than that, after all, he takes after his father you know."
She said with a reassuring smile, looking over to their sleeping son on the rug, whose hair was a lighter shade of indigo, resembling his father's. They had no idea what would happen to them and their children in the years to come.
